Champions League revamp

This doesn't sound as cut and dried that they leave, as some seem to be suggesting in the media.
Quite right.

I've followed this like everyone else, from the outset. This is how it all appears to me:
1. The Super League was set up in secret.
2. The '12' had agreed to be part of it (whether they have signed legally-binding contracts, I don't know).
3. Massive public and media outcry against it.
4. Rather large demonstration at Chelsea tonight.
5. Man City and Chelsea have APPLIED to leave the Super league (not definitely left it).
6. Woodward has resigned from Man Utd.

Now, if the '12' HAVE signed a legally-binding contract to take part in the Super League, then the Super league may simply say 'No, you are not leaving, we have a contract with you'. If the clubs then unilaterally leave, the Super League may take legal action to keep them to their word and protect their 'product'.

Once the issue in the above paragraph has been clarified, it may be then that the Premier League and UEFA take measures against the '6'. Hence their not coming out with any definitive action so far. And this may be the reason why the other four have remained silent so far, to see how the wind blows on the matter.

I'm not claiming any of the above is 100% correct, just my weighing up of the situation so far as it is known to the general public at this point in time.

JPM raised the cash for this through a SPAC listing it appears - with borrowing added to it also. Let it and them go bang. A fresh clean United and RS, if that’s not an ultimate oxymoron - can emerge.
I would love to know who or what put the money into that SPAC. That would answer many, many questions.

The thread title is fine.

Its still a Champions League revamp.
Sorry mate but no, boxhead is wrong, if Everton went into administration and were deducted points would he say that is not fair cos the fans done nothing? Doesn’t work like that, all clubs signed up to the rules and the six have broke them

But i will call it now: NOTHING will happen to the teams
True, it’s sad, they are too big and important for UEFA and the premier league, they need the money they bring, money is still on top and always will be.

Looks like Thomas Tuchel the ugly looking ferret

It's the owners though isnt it. Chelsea fans sat in a street tonight, Liverpool fans made their feelings fairly clear. Social media all day was full of fans and players standing up against the move. So now we go ahead and relegate, deduct points from these fans clubs. Strange to me anyway.

so, same question again

remove the rules as you can’t apply punishment for breaking them?

Dont think should relegate or deduct points but need a big fine and they need bans from european football for minimum of two season. Doesnt matter if fans player against it they are one club and need to get punished.
