Champions League revamp

The way Moshiri spoke on talksport about FFP it strikes me that if he was able to do so he would have thrown in alot more money.

If there is any way he can do it this summer, he will.

I wrote in the transfer thread that i think we'll spend £500mil over the next 3 summers (less sales).

We'll build a top 4 side by 2024.

Depends what FFP gets amended to. Im hoping post Covid they need the rich clubs to start spending big again which would give us the opportunity to spend as much as we wanted. Even a Luxury Tax would be great news for us.

The only issue any FFP changes wont come into effect until 2022 so this summer its same as usual. You hope Kean's impending sale gives us some leg room and really could do with the club hurrying up with the BMD Naming Rights as surely they would be wise enough to start it this summer to prop up the accounts?

Can the 14 of us not just start our own league and play some togger?
At the risk of sounding silly, we absolutely could.

What the 14 would need to do is get in contact with the football league. Create a new division between the Championship and the Premier League. Call it Division 1, and have it ran by the Football League. Promote 10 teams from the championship to make it a 24 league team, then stop promotion and relegation from the Premier League.

Rebrand the rest of the Football League pyramid. So the Championship becomes Division 2, League One becomes Division 3, and League Two becomes Division 4. The FA and UEFA then give the European spots to Division 1 places. Lastly, renegotiate the TV deals. Likely taking a bit of hit, but that would just even the gap between the 14 ex Premier League teams and 10 promoted Championship teams.

Then just leave the scab six to rot in the Premier League. There would be absolutely nothing any of them could do about it. And they would finally have thier closed league. If they want to re-enter the football league, then they start from the bottom. Like Wimbledon had to do.

I'm sure I'm missing some finer details, but that would be ideal to me

This is why they have been all up in arms about it. They only care about their precious 6.
There must have been a big sigh of relief in all of Sky. There's some twisted irony in all of this, I mean what makes the "Big six" without all that Sky £££? Sky spout bile on all of this but they're part of the problem as well.

I see the 14 clubs are divided on whether the scab clubs should be punished! Really? Divided? Take them all to the 'kin cleaners

I think someone made a good point the other day about how teams have become dependent on the money involved with the PL mostly brought in because the draw the likes of Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea etc... bring in.

They’ll be terrified at the idea of upsetting these clubs and pushing them away.

Isn’t it a shame?

Clubs willing to drop their kecks and bend over backwards, lose their dignity, pride and morals for the sake of money.

Deduct a point for every penny they would have earned from this league. Should be about 30 Billion points by my count, seems pretty reasonable to be honest.

I have Talksport on in the background here (shame on me I know)

They have said that any punishment from the PL will be a PL board decision and will not come down to a vote (or by proxy, a unanimous decision of the 14 clubs)

Be nice if the ones who vote against any punishment are named. At least we know where we stand as a club.

Edit:

Sorry mis read that post.

Anyone know contract law. is the fact they actually signed into a contract for this whilst being under contract to PL/UEFA have any bearing on anything?
