True and fair play.I wouldn't like him in charge of Everton but I tell you what least he is running the accounts properly instead of Perez and Co. that complain that even with their incomes that dwarf everybody else that they are struggling to buy x, y and z now.
If you are not prepared to put in your own income then that is how a club should be run. If at the end of every season the owner pays any debt occurred then that is also fine. That should be the true goal of FFP to ensure that clubs don't rack up debt and therefore risk the very existence of the club.
What will happen though is this. As he did with the Red Sox, he got the RS to the top by identifying undervalued players with potential like Salah. Fantastic it’s what we want Brands to do. Now someone will throw insane cash at them to buy Salah. Which again when they sell may be defensible or even smart from a footballing standpoint. But his public comments will be to congratulate himself on something to do with compounding interest, not withstanding that he’s shed the club of its public face and a player absolutely beloved by the fans, little kids crying themselves to sleep in their Salah kits (I’m not so cruel as to suggest the Anakin remedy, YMMV)
