I said a while back, when Europe starts again if we were within 5 points (and I meant dropped points) we had a real chance. That was always my barometer. We are probably just about clinging to a chance of 2nd place (they are 6 more dropped points than us).

In a couple of games, we will ahve played Liverpool, Chelsea, United & Leicester twice which is 4 of the best 5 teams. We will have City on the final day, which is abotu as good a time to play them as you can get (hopefully with them focussing on other finals they may be in, but not the FA Cup!)

Leicester going out of the EL is a big of a bummer, I'd have liked to see them go forward. But there's no doubt Arsenal, Spurs and to a degree Manchester United may start to focus more on the EL with potentially Chelsea & Liverpool focussing on CL (though this isn't neccearily a good thing if the latter win it!).

Sides start to make sacrifices at this stage. The hope will be those below us start to forget the league and it wil allow us to ideally cement no lower than 8th and work upwards.

Southampton feels a massive game now. If we don't sort out our home form v weaker teams it's unlikely we will finish in Europe, If we can we could still get top 4.

I think we'll need the fabled 72 points for 2nd and 67 for 4th. Leicester will probably get 10 points from their next 4 games which leaves them needing 13 points from their last 9 games.

I think you are probably in or about the right ball parks. I think slightly lower, maybe a point for 2nd and 2 lower for 4th. The hope might be, particularly with 4 that a Leicester either have a big fall away poing like last year, or United just put their focus on EL. Possible but not probable.

For us to get 65 points its 7 wins 4 draws and 71 points 9 wins and 4 draws which means we need to be pretty consistent until the end of the season. We need Leicester to beat United in FA Cup as that could become a distraction for them. Liverpool can never be ruled out. Fingers crossed they get a tough draw in Champions League.

One of the London teams chances to win it is even more now, the two best clubs in the competition drawn against each other (Man Utd and Milan).

We are still in this and I still have hope

But we simply can't have more "Everton that" moments.

We are healthy, players are coming into form. The cards are right there. No more brain farts please. We can do this

You mean champions or champions league?

I think champions is pretty much impossible unless Man City completely collaspse.

We’re still in the hunt for CL, west ham have a lot of difficult games coming up and we can beat Liverpool to 4th if it’s just between us and them.

Champions league.

We don't have enough depth to compete for the league. We are a few summers away

If we get 4th this is nailed on our group.
Bayern Munich
Real Madrid or Barcelona
AC Milan or Juventus

We will then either win the group and get knocked out against some garbage in the round of 16. Or we will not record a single point and have the worst Champions League group performance of all time.

Dont be so pessimistic, I could genuinely see us getting to the final with Carlos big game tactics.

then losing it to Liverpool.

It was said tongue firmly in cheek.

Imagine winning a group with Bayern, Barcelona, Juventus. Real Madrid in R16, Juventus QF, Manchester United SF, Manchester City Final. No one could dispute we deserved it.

Got to get in it 1st, probably draw Barca in the qualifying rounds

All 4 English teams automatically qualify now. So as long as we finish top 4 we are in the groups.
I did not know that

Big week ahead in the Race for top 4. The teams around us have harder games, let’s hope the win at Anfield totally changes our players mentality

Yeah and if you finish 1st pot 1, 2nd pot 2 and so on.

See what happens at the weekend and hopefully go all guns blazing at Southampton. They are safe and are possibly now focusing on the cup so I would like to think they won't be like Fulham and Newcastle. Allardyce is moaning about the fixtures and the games either side are against rivals so I hope he rests one or 2. If we win both of them the game against Chelsea could actually be a potential decider for 4th.
