Dropping out of the top happens to everyone even us and some stage in history.

Barring financial collapse..... It will probably never happen to any of the big boys again.

We used to be one of them.... that, and the fact that so many accept our fate is the true tragedy here.

There are no positives and some potentially catastrophic possibilities with relegation.

The big boys, ie United, Arsenal, Liverpool, City, Chelsea and possibly Spurs.
These clubs are now like your main stream banks. Simply too big to fail. They would be propped up and supported by the powers that be to keep them in the league.
They will never be relegated.

Exactly.... and in my lifetime we were as big as any of them. (Yes, including Man Utd). That's how far we've been allowed to fall.

HAHA In your life time? How old are you? you must be about 100+, no club was as big as United even in the 70s when they went down, even in the mid 80s United were bigger, look at when we beat them 5 0, it was a massive deal because it was United

Those short term loans of 150m are rather concerning. Payable on demand in the event of relegation.

What are you on about?

I was born in the early 60s.... we were bigger than Utd at that point on any metric, and bigger than them in every previous decade too. Feel free to prove me wrong.

No-one was that surprised when we beat Utd 5-0 in 84/85.... we beat the European Champions on their own ground the previous week and United hadn't had a sniff at winning the league for decades.

Just because no-one was surprised we beat them 5 0 in 84 didn't make us a similar size club, not even close, talk like that is silly.

One reason why you don't want to go down, really hoping we go into Admin next season so our "Chairman " can be gone

Where did I say we were bigger than Utd in 84?

You're making stuff up, as ever!
No you incorrectly said in your lifetime we were as big as United and that's how far we've been allowed to fall, then in a later post you mentioned the early 60s, so you are saying in the 70s we fell behind United?
