Championship positives

I've always had the dream of watching Keane score own goals In the championship I just wish it was for another team, if the drop doesn't obliterate the club due to extensive financial mismanagement and abysmal recruitment on and off the pitch you would hope systemic changes would occur like kenwright and Moshiri fleeing with the possibility of more competent stewardship taking their place also no Merseyside derby to dread. Hopefully we someone avert relegation though

So it's 1 more from Sheff Wed, Barnsley, Bolton, Derby or Peterborough to go up from League 1
I hope its Peterborough. I've never been there before
Where is Peterborough?

No you incorrectly said in your lifetime we were as big as United and that's how far we've been allowed to fall, then in a later post you mentioned the early 60s, so you are saying in the 70s we fell behind United?

I said in my life time we have been bigger than any of them (including Utd....)

I told you to feel free to disprove that..... you couldn't, so you shifted the goal posts.

Is it really that difficult or are you just an habitual contrarian?

In your lifetime Everton have never been bigger then United, thats an embarrassing thing to say, you tried to get out of it by saying you go back to the 60s, in the 60s they won the league twice, won the FA cup, won the European Cup, had the "holy trinity" of Charlton, Law and Best, Matt Busby, home crowds to match ours at least, Everton were not bigger.
If you are saying we then declined and they overtook us, when exactly did this happen?

Bigger then Chelsea, City and Spurs yes, and yes Liverpool in the early 60s too

We defo were bigger then Man U at times in my lifetime mate and im not old, we used to feel sorry for the Utd supporters in school, they didn't win the title in decades until a good few years into Ferguson and up to that point Forest had more European Cups…that was even when Ferguson was there ….up to a point. Changed about 90 they started to do well, but 93/4 or so is when the after burners came on and they became massive.

I repeat..... I said in my lifetime, and I was born in the early 60s.

Old trafford was a shed in the early 60s. Their average gate for the whole of the 60s was just a few hundred more than ours, even with the European cup. Every other club's average for the whole of the 60s was less than ours. Their average attendance for every decade before that was lower than ours. So..... in the early 60s Everton were at least as big as Man Utd, and were bigger before.

Even with Best and Law, we had 2/3 rds of Burnden Park for the FA Cup semi.

But Old Trafford was also a world cup venue, its wasn't that bad!!

I’ve got to say I have to agree with this….we have never been as big or bigger than Man Utd certainly since Munich.

And it doesn’t make a difference to the size of the club….OT is a dump now - it hasn’t been developed for years under the Glaziers but that doesn’t mean Man Utd are going for anything less than £5-6bn probably

Slightly off thread so I apologise in advance but if INEOS don’t succeed in buying Utd, I would be speaking with Jim about buying us…he tried to buy Chelsea (as he has a season ticket there), is currently trying to buy Utd as a boyhood fan, but he is local (or was) and is old enough to remember Everton in our pomp and should therefore have some idea of our potential

A positive themed thread on G.O.T?? Surely a banning is warranted for that alone right?

Positive is that, I can't see us being any better next season. We will struggle in the Premier League. The stadium is going to be built for the 2024/25 season, so hopefully we can get promotion for the new stadium ready for EPL football. Rather than actually being relegated and playing games in our new home.
