2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

Quite liked the very little that I saw of him in 22/23. He seems comfortable driving with the ball from deep and joining the striker, not really had that quality since Barkley left. Given that Doucouré's output has reduced significantly, he looks to be a decent pickup, provided the fee is not outrageous.

I had a quick look on a Southampton forum for their verdict on him:

"Interested to see how he does in the Prem in a non-possession team. Pretty well based on what we saw last time I'd imagine."

"Interesting move. We totally wasted him, one of the very few players to come out of the back end of our last premier league season with any credit, and of course Martin hated his direct style and unpredictability."

According to the mighty ChatGPT:
“According to FIFA regulations, a player can be registered with a maximum of three clubs in a season but can only play official matches for two of them. Given that Alcaraz has already played for Southampton and Flamengo this season, he is ineligible to participate in competitive matches for Everton during the remainder of the 2024–2025 season.

It's important to note that while he can train with Everton and be registered with the club, he cannot feature in any official games until the next season.”
