2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

I understand why moyes has tried him out wide because good to kno what he would offer next season and what positions he could cover. Id still like us to try a mid 3 not just having a 10. Maybe try him garner and tim in a three.

I struggle to see where we would find similar or better quality for the price quoted. With all the players leaving this summer, signing him for 15m seems the obvious move.
Moyes and the transfer department might think there is better out there....rightly or wrongly.

Just because your good self can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there.

I think it's 60/40 we don't.

Everything up to now suggests Moyes doesn't fancy him.

Just playing an 32 year old out of contract Doucoure is the big clue for me.

I've been wrong thousands of times before...lets see how this one plays out.
It's difficult to imagine you being wrong about the basic theory of it I would say. If Moyes was convinced already you'd have to think he would be putting him the side every week, both because he rated him and because he wanted to ensure we could definitely use the agreement to sign him for the set fee. I've wuite liked what I've seen myself and for the price it seems a sensible move, but if Moyes isn't convinced it would obviously be a waste of money to bring him in.

Not been the player Soton fans said he was on Twitter when he signed. But him not being Doucoure or Harrison is a massive redeeming feature. Can't believe them to start games together.

Maybe also trying to get doucoure to a new contract, but with games coming up forest city chelsea wouldnt surprise me if he still isnt starting games. Even tho id like him to start vs forest with ndiaye and mcneil

This is it mate...it's all well good saying Charly represents good value at 15 mil but not if Moyes doesn't rate him.

He's not just gona blow money on a player he doesn't rate.

The worry for me is Blues seems to be wedded to the idea of him coming in and they may actually end up being really disappointed.

I personally hope Charly pulls it out the bag and shows enough for Moyes to pull the trigger.

To be fair, one could argue the manager would expect us to need to be more defensively sound in this run of games and prioritise the miles doucs puts in

Then one could argue that something Charly can't do...that's just me playing devil advocate.

I want him to get a proper run of game in the comings months...if he doesn't it doesn't look like a positive outcome.
