Far more valuable than those "low value" goals.Neal Maupay has an XG of 1.5, the 6th highest in the league

The thing is we know at this point Maupay is a bad finisher, but if he actually can get to xG of like 12 or whatever, which if we use him regularly is in range, he probably still scores like 8 goals or so. Che Adams probably gets that as a best case and we have to pay more money for that! Just use Maupay and give Chermiti chances. Hopefully DCL gets 20 games in. I’m fine with buying another striker but there is never ever justification to spend 8 digits on a player everyone already knows isn’t any good.Neal Maupay has an XG of 1.5, the 6th highest in the league

This is an argument you’re using for Che Adams! He doesn’t score either!Far more valuable than those "low value" goals.
as a measurement of how the player performs relative to xG/xA goals and assists absolutely are significant, position dependentFor recruitment they genuinely are not the best thing to look at but you’re not here for a honest discussion
I think if you pop me off ignore you will find that our views on Che Adams are a rare moment of agreement between us.This is an argument you’re using for Che Adams! He doesn’t score either!
Wait, wait, I know the answer to this one. It's xG, isn't it? Get in.as a measurement of how the player performs relative to xG/xA goals and assists absolutely are significant, position dependent
Maupay has high xG already this season, but under performs it every season, so which is the more important metric, the xG or the goals?
You’re making my exact argument which is everything is worth considering. Yeah for a player that always finishes poorly you have to consider how much the ball actually goes in more. It’s all useful information.as a measurement of how the player performs relative to xG/xA goals and assists absolutely are significant, position dependent
Maupay has high xG already this season, but under performs it every season, so which is the more important metric, the xG or the goals?
Then why are you doing this exactly? lolI think if you pop me off ignore you will find that our views on Che Adams are a rare moment of agreement between us.
I wouldn’t say that’s my point exactly“Just create more chances for Maupay”
Big Iggy ladies and gentelemen. GOT’s wisest sage.
People were razzing you about your stats obsession, honestly I had no choice but to pile on!Then why are you doing this exactly? lol
Xg is all well and good, but it doesn’t factor in when a player has feet shaped like a banana. Or in maupays case, I reckon his foot is just one giant big toe.as a measurement of how the player performs relative to xG/xA goals and assists absolutely are significant, position dependent
