We have seen the best of the young lads go on loan to the lower divisions.

What makes you think Che Adams with his proven track record isn't as likely, if not more so to not score goals for us

Champions League is so overrated. Yes, it is great to get a few extra matches. Yes, it is great to be able to test yourself against top European opposition. But for half the teams, you get 2 or 3 big matches. That's it.

If you play Premier League, you'll get to play Manchester United twice, Manchester City twice, Arsenal twice, Spurs twice, Chelsea twice and Liverpool twice. That is a much stronger pull than to get to play Nice, Porto and Union Berlin.

What made Atalanta an easy choice for El Bilal Toure is that they have a manager that is good with developing young talents while playing offensive and modern football. That's how dreams are made. That's what make it possible to buy a teenager for 17 million euros and sell him to Manchester United for 80 million ten months later.

Compare that with Everton. A team that plays a football that has nothing in common with how successful teams play in 2023. Players that do well for Everton will not be attractive for other clubs, as the style of play and roles are very different. Everton don't do what successful teams do in training. Everton won't develop top players.

Fair assessment under Dyche so far.

To be fair, Sheffield to Southampton via Birmingham is a bit of a journey.

I think this Che Adams will be ok, although I felt the same about more pay. He’s defo more suited to the dyche school of play though. I think he will do ok it’s not mega money and it puts pressure on maupay to perform and also DCL to an extent. Don’t really see the downside to this deal, he can’t be any worse than Maupay surely

Not for £12m, because lets face it the money we spent on Maupay is affectively wasted and so will this £12m.

Why do we want to actively buy someone that will be an understudy to DCL, we want a player that will push him and able to take his place if not performing.

When did we become DCL FC... At some point we will have to replace him! Whether it is because he is sold or has to retire through injuries...

I don't disagree with you but unfortunately we are where we are.

We signed Maupay because limited funds and now we are signing Che Adams for the same reason albeit Adams is a much more physical player than Maupay and can lead the line as a sole striker.

We are scrimping and saving trying to keep us in the division but living within our modest means.

I believe we need to accept that this is our fate for another couple of seasons.

Ive said "how do we go from El Bilal to Che Adams"

Meaning: "Two totally different profiles of player".

Ive already written why the player should be u23 and why they dont need to be -- in the post you replied to.

To be fair not much makes sense in our style. Last season we trained all week for Dom, he goes off early and instead of Simms who could play similar, we opt for Maupay who couldn’t be more opposite to Dom.

Are you being serious ?

Adams has a history of playing the premiership.
The young academy lads have never played there... for a reason... they are not ready, some never will be.

Che Adams can actually stand on his two feet so in that regard he is an upgrade on Maupay.

It’s a shame that better than Maupay is the standard, but he is indeed that dire.
