to be fair, not bet much since April (Aintree), won nothing on Everton this season.

got nowhere with Norway in the Eurovison tonight, got an Everton win for tomorrow, got about £40 worth of bets on Martinez and £3 on Laudaup

Had atletico 1-2 last night, but it was 1-1 after 90 mins.

I just can't see us being arsed tomorrow.. Hope I'm wrong.

Bit off-topic, but I tipped Mon Home (the 100/1 National winner from a few year back), then failed to back him myself as I couldn't find a betting shop here in Berlin that would cover the National.

Haven't had a bet since.

i can see Chelsea being less arsed, they won there trophy, Rafael is going. Champs League is sorted. its a day to parade there cup.

Champs League isn't quite sorted, as if they finish 4th it means a Qualifier...might be risky. With 3rd it means guaranteed Group Phase. They'll be well up for beating us. That's why we're hearing about this mooted play-off for 3rd place. It's important to finish 3rd over 4th.

And Rafael isn't 100% going yet...he might yet stay on.

It might seem easy to agree, and in a way it is.

But I've got a good mate of mine who's Chelsea. Pre-Abramovich he always used to tell me it would be his dream to win the title before he died (he was in his mid-20's back then ffs), but he said he just couldn't see how they would ever challenge, even with the likes of Hoddle, Gullit, Vialli & Ranieri managing them. They had some decent players back then too: Zola, Flo, Hasselbank etc.

Then the money came, and at first my mate was ecstatic at winning the title so imperiously. But something nagged at him. Eventually he stopped going to Stamford Bridge and started going to watch AFC Wimbledon instead. He said he re-discovered his love for following football, and he wasn't the only old-school Chelsea fan at Wimbledon games either.

Maybe there's a lesson or two in that:

1) not all Chelsea fans are the vacuous type who were brought up on Abramovich.
2) us Evertonians pining for success may bring more disillusion than happiness.

Still don't know where I stand on the issue, but there's definitely more to it than your post, mate.

I know what you mean, I am sure there are some good fans out there and I have nothing against their good fans. I am not one who wants Everton to be taken over Chelsea or City style anyway.

I have a mate who has been a Chelsea supporter from before the Abramovich years (or at least he says that, I've only known him from five years). Was absolutely livid when di Matteo got fired. Saying things like, I'd rather be in the 3rd division than have to put up with this ****, etc. Funny thing is he's not even from west London, and where he's from has a club that has been fighting for promotion to League 2 the past years. I asked him why he doesn't support them then. (they are huge for a conference club)

Oh he's also never been to a match. CFC TIL I DIE.
