Well he's awfully lucky then, because by sheer chance he maintained a position that allowed him to cover the on-ball defender in case he was beaten inside AND prevent the easy short pass along the floor to Mata. I wish I could absent-mindedly play that well. If Distin thought there was no other Chelsea player nearby, why didn't he close down and double up on the attacker with the ball?

I watched the entire game mate, including that passage of play. Distin was our MoM.

If he didn't notice Mata he'd have been stood 2 or 3 yards diagonal to Jagielka.

Thought we played really well on Sunday especially in the first half. Chelsea had the upper hand when the game turned scrappy, there was a point when we were on top and should have made some bold subs and have a real go at winning, but that's just not Moyes. Hopefully a new boss will be more proactive. Reasons to be cheerful.

Moyes' subs were possibly his most proactive and positive in his time here. At least in terms of timing.
