Frustrating to see Gibson come on - why not fetch on Garbutt , and move Oviedo in midfield - Barry is utter rubbish never subbed yet on a booking- my brother recons TH could have caught the ball he punched out straight towilliam or punched it towards the wing!?

Bad way to lose but lets take the positives.

Our defence is sorted now, build from the back, now we need to start playing two wingers, and bench Naismith, Naismith breaks down more attacks for us than the opposition DM's do.

I wouldn't be so quick to conclude that about the defence.

That is all very well against the RS and Chelsea and City......teams which attack us.

It is all these other teams who let us come onto them and try their own smash and grab we need to see sorted.

I think we can all conclude that there is no way Everton is going to end in the bottom three this season. Yes, I understand that this season has not been quite as good as a lot of us expected, but I feel there is too much angst.
I would be happy now with a top 8-10 finish, and winning the EL. And I think we have the team and manager to do it. So let's not get too down eh lads.
Chelsea were lucky tonight, but that's football. We often get a lot of luck as well...it cuts both ways.

Really? All I've seen is us parking the bus in every game. We've scored 1 goal in the last 4 games ffs. He has managed to turn us from a team consistently in the top 7, to a team who is only 5 points off the relegation zone with only 13 games left.

Ssshhh were having an alright season, didn't anyone tell you our standards have dropped somewhat now.

So so frustrating.

Positives:

Defended well
Excellent team spirit
Equal to Chelsea in second half. Had Lukaku scored we would have come away with 3 points.
Much crisper passing particularly in 2nd half
John Stones looking more like a taller Bobby Moore each game.
Lennon looked good although tailed off badly before being subbed.
Howard, good performance his lack of athleticism to react to deflection cost us the goal, other than that I thought he had his best game in a long time

Negatives
RM should have subbed Gibson for Barry given he was on a yellow. Arguably his sending off cost us the goal through lack of cover on edge of area.
Barkley looks lost. Even with ball at feet he's missing that drive.

Safe journey home Blues, as ever support was magnificent.

To be honest I preferred it last year when we attacked other teams away from home. We might of fell short in the end but I tell you what it was some of the best stuff I've seen us play in years.

Agreed. Why the [Poor language removed] didn't he try to stop the ball??? 9 out of 10 goalkeepers would have stopped that goal.

5th last season, £28m forward and people are happy we probably won't go down. Pathetic.
