Not to lay blame on Howard, but he was hardly commanding that area was he, Terry was allowed to toey it in to the opposite corner

If its crossed into the 6 yard box then IMO the keeper has to be coming and claiming it, its a fault that Tim regularly has is not commanding his area especially the 6 yard box enough. Had a decent game otherwise and Distin was also crap for their goal. Thought we played well overall but with no serious goal threat to them it was always a danger they'd sneak one.

We were great today. First half especially, our midfield outfought them. When Torres came on things started getting niggly and they got a fair few fouls in their favour while allowed them to keep the pressure on. As ever, it's our mistakes which let us down with a split second loss of concentration from a free kick.

Either way, we were boss and if we can keep performing like that there's no reason why we can't get maximum points and a place at wembley from our march fixtures.

Howard will get plaudits in the media and on here for his saves, but he needs to deal with that cross!

How many times does he switch off in vital moments? Same with Distin and Jagielka.

he's always been a great shot-stopper, but the other parts of his game have always been lacking. the main thing that irks me is that he's been a professional foootballer for about 20 years now and still nobody has decided to coach him on how to kick a ball properly.

he gets scared like that skinny bespecled kid in PE in year 7

We played great today. I hate to say it but Barkley is really really bad right now. Osman is way superior right now.
Yeah we were nowhere near as good when we subbed Ossie off for Ross, who looks more than a bit rusty. A few moments like when he just passed the ball 15 yards in front of Seamus, straight off the park. We can't get too downhearted at things like that though, we have to let him learn the game and not get all Moyes about it and drop him to the reserves.
Played them off the park today, thought we were exceptional, particularly the starting 11. A lot of positives with Lukaku to come back in.

No

We did. They had a couple of moments but we mostly contained them, while we zipped our passes to feet and looked more dangerous.

Wow. Some people really are getting carried away with that performance.

We were good in possession in the first half but at no point were we playing them off the park.

:) the whole first half lid! Obviously they won so well done Chelski, we end with nothing. but that was the best we've played at the Bridge for a very long time. Amazed you think differently.

Been in work so wasn't able to watch, but apparently we won the possession again which is great news!

* starts to fume *

i think we're now worse off on points than we were this time last season...

Actually, we're three points ahead of last year after 26 games played. Last season, we still had home games left against Reading, City, Stoke, QPR, Fulham and West Ham and won them all, but in away games against Norwich, Spurs, Arsenal, Sunderland, the Schite and Chelsea we lost three and drew three, finishing on 63 points; this time, we have home games remaining against Palace, West Ham, Cardiff, Swansea, Arsenal, United and City and I expect points in most if not all of them, but better still is our five away games are Newcastle, Fulham, Sunderland, Southampion and Hull and I know we can pick up more than three points from those.
