Let's be serious, it was an even match but they managed to steer one in from a set piece late on. Not buying this bad ref bull, he was alright on the whole. Barkley was poor, he's 20! He is going to find certain games hard to get into. On the positives I thought our defence was good today, McGeady looked bright and Naismith did ok, but he really is an impact player more I feel. Not a terrible result, let's finish above Moyes and win the cup COYB

Thought we were back to near our best today. Bitterly disappointing last 90 seconds apart, we can take a lot from that game.

Barry and McCarthy basically ran the show. If Ross had been in the form he was two months or so ago that ends with a win for us...or if we'd bought a fit and decent striker even.

I think it was Baines who didn't track Terry.

distin just totally stopped, have no idea what he was doing tbh, he's way too experienced to know not to totally switch off at that moment.

maybe he was expecting howard to come and claim it because it was only about 5 yards out, but he's played with him for years and known that he doesn't do that.

i know he's taller but robles has been good at commanding his area especially from crosses.

they both had good games, but conceding that goal was a disaster.

not a terrible result? we lost in the 93rd min.

doesn't exactly get much more terrible than that.

Those of you who always dread going in to work after losing a derby game ought to think of those of us like me, who has my wife's smug, Chelsea-supporting ex-husband to deal with. I had to bite my tongue for the sake of his son (who lived with his mum and me and had asked if his dad could watch the game at our place) after a game we lost to them 3-2 a few seasons back. I wanted to rip his ******* head off!

We played great today. I hate to say it but Barkley is really really bad right now. Osman is way superior right now. Not sure if bringing him on today was good. Thought everything stopped when we attacked with Barkley. Both his movement and passing was bad today. Distin and Jags were pretty sluggish when the game was in its final minutes, but overall a great performance. Unfortunately it didn't give us a point.

At the start of the season you look at certain fixtures and think 'I'd snatch a draw right now'. Old Trafford, Emirates, Stamford Bridge, Anfield, Etihad. Sometimes this changes (OT) but I felt this morning I'd take a draw and expected a loss, and realistically we all did.

Howard will get plaudits in the media and on here for his saves, but he needs to deal with that cross!

How many times does he switch off in vital moments? Same with Distin and Jagielka.

Anyone suggesting that a month ago would have been sectioned; today it's bang on the money. Osman was hard done by getting dragged off today.
