I watched the game last night more with a feeling of trepidation than expectation. I thought we were definitely getting beaten and I thought we would ship a few goals. The result was a very pleasant surprise, the performance of a number of young lads gave me some hope. Gordon was brilliant, Branthwaite was great. I thought both Simms and Dobbins both tried hard. Pickford was my MoM.
On the other side of things Chelsea should have won comfortably. Iwobi ran about but contributed very little positive. I thought Godfrey got exposed a few times when Chelsea targeted his side.
Apart from an away point the positives I took out of this is we didn’t implode when we went one down. We had a game plan and we stuck to it. Young players showed their older, more experienced team mates that if you are prepared to roll your sleeves up and commit to the tactics then sometimes you get the rub of the green.

we were lucky to be fair, james should have buried that chance in the 5th minute, if that had gone in it could have been another man city v leeds result
also mount should have scored that 1 on 1, pickford made a great save but it was such an easy chance
2 points Chelsea will maybe look back on in May. I know you had a couple out with covid but we had at least 10 senior players out with injury/illness/fall outs with the manager. I'm still in a bit of shock that we got a result with that side. Always nice to see young lads come in and play for the shirt though.
8 or 9 times out of 10 we lose that game. If Lukaku plays I'm pretty sure it finishes 2-1. But Pickford had a good game and that's his job so I'll take the point no problem.
if you could just make sure and beat the reds later in the season and stop them winning it, that would be great.

Richarlson is actually younger than DCL by a couple of months so he could be in there too, we do have a decent bunch of players under 25.
you won't be very popular on here I'm afraid. Your team's failure to win last night has given a lot of people on here a headache they didn't need, having already banked the defeat. I'd keep a low profile for a bit.

Even though it is untested and people like Davies, Kenny have not proven themselves at all, it would be a far better team. I know its easy to say on paper, but i wish we would give it a chance...just imagine...
