It’s like me becoming a Premier League ref and telling them I have no bias towards Everton or Liverpool because I’m a Widnes FC fan. I doubt Kavanagh is on social media for anyone to scour his posting history from
10-15 years ago either.
Exactly the point that Andy C is failing to understand.
I have no allegiance to the Manchester clubs either, but it doesnt stop me having Man U fans as cousins.

Er yeah, I just won’t call a guy with a wife and kids a maggot for doing his job poorly.

-

"poorly"? - doing your job poorly is Michael Keane being unable to kick a ball out, very very annoying but not worthy of abuse. to be fair Chris Coleman has 6 kids and he was poor at his job.......

Cavanagh is a paid referee who's job it is to make very quick decisions in the middle of a game - so he is acutely aware of the rules. He was sat in an office with a visual of the handball in perfect, close up, slow motion view with 2 minutes to get it right.......... how can his ruling that it wasn't a handball be down to being poor at his job? It was a blatant case of corruption, cheating, whatever you want to call it.

People who partake in corruption are maggots IMO - and that's being generous.

Dreadful referee.

But can I just say, he’s a massive United fan, so not sure how him doing us in, to favour City is any favours?

I just come to the conclusion tha the majority of the referees are poor officials which are ordered to give advantageous decisions to the bigger sides to make it more “enjoyable”.

Some Man United fans would sooner City win the league than Liverpool - because their rivalry is far worse.

I’m not offended by it, I just think it’s cringe to be saying it a long time after the match has finished, about two hours ago in fact. Can’t be using heat of the moment as an excuse.

Can you please give us some tips as to how 2 hours is sufficient enough to not feel aggrieved at being cheated out of points when it could send us down? Is there some sort of meditation app that helps with this?

Call me crazy but the longer time goes on the more angry I feel about this. I'm a rational person but this decision and many more like it is throwing the game into a big giant rubbish bin. I have watched Everton for near 40 years - this is as bad as i've felt after a game..... yes it has meant Liverpool have a lesser chancew of winning the league but lets forget about them - this is about us.

Given the choice of being relegated or surviving in a game which is corrupt - I would pick relegation every time. What's the point in being a fan in something that is false - unless you are a grown man who watches WWE wrestling.

I just have a tough time believing there is some kind of conspiracy when you'd need dozens if not hundreds of people to go along with it.

Also it doesn't even really pass the smell test here, if anything the best thing would be for City to drop points and to keep the title race alive.
the referee has a brother who is a Man city season ticket holder.......... whether is a Man city or man united fan there is a very very strong chance he wants Man City to win the league ahead of Liverpool. He lives 5 miles from the Etihad...........

conspiracy? doesn't need to be a conspiracy - just plain "I don't want city to drop points here and its in my gift to make that happen"

Its baffling that its not a requirement tbh.

I dont buy all this "he supports Marine FC" bollox - regardless he'll have some kind of affiliation or dislike of one of or both Everton/Liverpool its only natural.
exactly - most people I know who support a lower league side have a top tier team that they support just for TV enjoyment etc.

90% of fans support a top level side
