Chris Kavanagh

Just had this from a friend who used to be a referee and who I have known for years and trust implicitly…

BTW I assessed Chris Kavanagh on numerous occasions when he was officiating in the local leagues on Sat/Sun a few years back and I know for a fact that he has no allegiances to either of the Manchester clubs.
He follows a far lower club from Yorkshire after his Grandad.

That's good, he's just grossly incompetent then. Fits in well with the rest of the officials.

I don't think that the ref had a clear view of the handball but how the hell VAR didn't award a penalty is beyond belief.
If was such an outrageous decision that you have to wonder if the game was fixed.

In real time 100% a referee can be forgiven for missing that.

To have the benefit of every camera angle and time and call that incorrectly is criminal incompetence.

FFS read the post !!!
I have no idea about his family, friends or school history.
What I'm telling everyone is that a former and highly respected referee has advised me that Kavanagh has no allegiance to either of the Manchester clubs.

Oh right, so that means it must be true? Of course refs aren't going to disclose who their colleagues support. Jesus wept.

I'm still scratching my head as how the penalty wasn't given in real time, never mind after var took a look!?!

Imagine if we go down when needing a single point come season end, after being denied the chance to score from the spot?!

Lampard was bang on - kavanagh is either corrupt or incompetent, whichever it is he should be out of a job.

Corrupt I believe if Kavanagh is the one who advice that it did not deserve a second look by the on field ref.
If that was the case, Kavanagh knew the penalty would be given hence he advice that it did not deserve a second look.

Most VAR ref will just divert the responsibility to the on field ref to make the final call. The fact that it was not, it meant that Chris knew. He knew it was a handball, that's why it took him 2 minutes to think of what can he say to say it's not a handball.

And how would he know?

Imagine thinking somebody could grow up in Manchester and not have family or friends with allegiance to any Manchester club, what next "He doesnt even like football".

It’s like me becoming a Premier League ref and telling them I have no bias towards Everton or Liverpool because I’m a Widnes FC fan. I doubt Kavanagh is on social media for anyone to scour his posting history from
10-15 years ago either.

Just been on the BBC sports page, there over 3000 comments on the match, I read the first couple of hundred and bearing in mind a large portion are from neutrals, there's an overwhelming sway of absolute disbelief at the decision. The majority calling out the corruption that has NOW COME TO LIGHT!!
Neutral will maybe be RS… what a dilemma. Ironically not seeing there own hand in these scandals
