Instant dismissal in my opinion. Even incompetence cannot be claimed, there is no hiding from what he did. It was in your face and nothing he says can justify the decision he made other than cheating and corruption.

They won't do that of course, they will just fine Lampard instead and carry on business as usual.

Just had this from a friend who used to be a referee and who I have known for years and trust implicitly…

BTW I assessed Chris Kavanagh on numerous occasions when he was officiating in the local leagues on Sat/Sun a few years back and I know for a fact that he has no allegiances to either of the Manchester clubs.
He follows a far lower club from Yorkshire after his Grandad.
So what are you saying lad ? Chris that you know somehow appears to be completely moron , only arrogant idiot can say that this was not a penalty, how someone like him can in that case be PL ref , it’s not first time , in every game he has something to complain , simply moron

Its big team bias. Its nothing to do with refs supporting certain teams. Its just inherent in the game and getting worse, and the media coverage of certain teams is not helping.

Its one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. He needs to be held accountable but since it was in favour of a big team, I doubt they will do anything.

I'm not disagreeing mate, merely posting what I've been told by a highly respected former referee who happens to know Kavanagh and says he's not the City or United fan that many, including Wikipedia, suggest he is.

So he has no school friends from Manchester, has no in laws, or family friends who support Man City ?
Read the post... a former and highly respected referee who I know personally advises me that Kavanagh has no allegiance to either City or United.
Neither he nor I mentioned or insinuated anything about his extended family !!!

I thought the Wikipedia page was clearly a wind up to be fair. It was talking about Blue moon and Oasis lol

Imp he's just an extremely poor referee who has made a catalogue of bad errors, quite a few of them against us. I cant explain yesterday. Its an inexplicable mistake and is barely believable

If you actually bother to read the post properly, neither myself nor the former and highly respected referee that I know, have disputed the fact it was handball and should have been a penalty.
The subsequent post also advises that this former, highly respected referee cannot understand why he didn't award the penalty.

The post clearly reads that Kavanagh doesn't have any allegiance to either of the Manchester clubs.
