City Break

Really, can’t wait to go, any tips?
We walked nearly everywhere as we like to do in a city. The public transport is excellent though. Just buy a ticket in loads of little shops, 1.50 euro when I was there and you can travel as much as you want on anything up to an hour, I think. We paid big money for a very small group tour of the Vatican and didn't regret it. Some of the tours had about 40 people in them. The opulence will either wow you or make you angry. Castel St Angelo was great. We didn't do the Colloseum tour but worth checking out. Ice cream is amazing. Go to Trastevere in the evening for food and there are loads of stalls, eateries etc along the River in summer. Have a few Birra Morettis. There are ancient ruins literally around ever corner. Can't wait to go back. Oh , and there's freedrinkable water fountains every where in Rome. You'll love it!

Just booked Vienna for my fiancée's 30th. Any tips would be outstanding. Thanks, guys
Remortgage your house lol.

It's gorgeous, so many museums in close proximity. Me and the other half visited Bratislava, but got the train to Vienna for a day trip (its an hour away).

We ventured to the Sissi Museum, which is really interesting. But there are loads in close proximity. Most seem to charge. Its not the cheapest city, seems close to London prices.

All depends on what you want to do on your city break.
One of the best places I have been to for a city break was Berlin. The place is huge. I’m into my history, in particular WW2 so Berlin was a fantastic place to go for that. Plus the beer and food is decent.

St Petersburg was also on the list but that’s obviously taking a back seat at the moment..

Malaga gets a bad rep but is nice. Both Cadiz and Granada will be a bit cooler. One of my favourite parts of the world.
Both Cadiz and Granada are wonderful places. I think the Alhambra is somewhere everyone should visit at some time in their lives - a truly stunning experience. Another lovely town in that area is Cordoba - like Granada a city heavily influenced by Islam from when it was ruled by Muslims for 500 years or so. For Cadiz, as well as the city itself there are some stunning beaches along that stretch of coastline - including Cape Trafalgar.
