Talk now is of 5 or 6 waves and not just the one peakWhen isolation started early in March we were warned by the medical spokesmen not to get complacent when the rates of infection started to slow down.
The certain danger is that when people get out and about again infections and deaths would return in even greater numbers.
Some commentators here are clamouring for a start back to normality and are happy to quote them when it suits them, but I haven't heard one of them refer
to that initial warning.
As for the football, my hope is that whatever is decided about this unfinished season doesn't impact on next season if it's avoidable. I love Everton and
football, but I'm really not interested right now.
The British Government may have blood on their hands when this is all over but Trump will be swimming in itIf Trump were in charge it would be back this weekend.
I think the British government are on the back foot because they undoubtedly were slow in reacting to the threat and were not prepared for what was to come or else they have the worst medical advisors in the world.
Either way they are playing catch up now against mounting criticism and I think they will be slow to try to get things back to normal too quickly in case of a second surge and even more criticism.
He was on holiday mateIts a pity Boris did not realise this earlier
Ireland has also stopped any gathering.until sept as wellNo Dutch football allowed till Sept 1st not even behind closed doors to prevent second wave. So to be continued for other leagues
What worrys me is out government are useless, they should be making this call themselves, the PL obviously dont want toNo Dutch football allowed till Sept 1st not even behind closed doors to prevent second wave. So to be continued for other leagues
I think this is what they will do, just play enough to give them the points then stop again, Everton should refuse to playBloody Tory kopite government wanted to try so hard to get them two games over the line. Everton had to do the honourable thing and push their hand by pulling a sicky. It was for the greater good.

I still think that the best solution for all is to not play football until September/October, with the first game of the 20/21 season, scrap all national and European cup competitions (surely we shouldn't be encouraging cross border travel anyway) and finish on time while also giving opportunity for Saturday-Wednesday football through a number of weeks in case of further restrictions on a rolling basis. If absolutely required, a full season could be completed in 19 weeks.
So you are saying treat this season as null and void?
