Comedians - Rate & Hate

Status

Old school (or in other words dead): Rodney Dangerfield Jr., Frankie Howard*, Tommy Cooper.

Current (i.e. alive): Stewart Lee

Hate: Bishop, McIntyre

*no idea if he was any good but when I saw him everyone was falling apart from the moment he popped his head around the curtains and went ooooh.

Rate - Stewart Lee, Norm McDonald, Phoenix Nights guy who worked in an inn in Bethlehem, can't remember his name sorry, David Mitchell (is he one?)

Hate - all the scouse (or pretend scouse) ones

Rate - Gervais / Merchant / Kevin Bridges
Hate - Lee Mack (hate a bit strong but he annoys me), also female comedian with really odd hair (long at the front and shaved everywhere else) - don't know her name but she is on a lot of stuff at the moment and is an irritant.

Rate: Dave chapelle, bill burr, Jimmy Carr, norm mcdonald, Greg Davies and Frankie boyle

Hate: Michael McIntyre

Edit: one more that I don't hate, and was almost going to avoid mentioning because of the sensitivity of it... but can't enjoy watching Rosie Jones. It is admirable that she does what she does but for me, comedy is all about timing and pacing and just can't get into it. Makes me feel bad for not enjoying it as well.

The GOAT for me in terms of stand up only. His video podcast if you can find them is terrific, netflix tried to recreate it as a series which didn't really work but the originals are great fun.

Love Office Hours, and now that Phill Braun has taken over Tims twitter that should be a laugh.
The standup video he recorded in lockdown was insane.

Takes some balls to do a full set in one take with no audience to feedback.

Will be sorely missed.

Modern comedy isn't jokes anymore, it's pick on the audience (Paul Smith).
Jimmy Carr throws in jokes now and then.
John Bishop isn't remotely scouse or funny.
