Computer games.

KOTOR getting a remake and apparently not by EA or Bioware. As with all remakes, I’m curious as to how faithful they will remain to the original. Hopefully if all goes well they redo the 2nd too

Hope its not a remake - yes, the graphics would be better but the first game was one of the greatest games ever made. It would be impossible to do it justice, just as the remake of FFVII couldn't get near the original.

A "Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads" style revisiting of everyone involved twenty years afterwards could however be decent, if they do it right.

I’m mainly skeptical because as we all know with remakes, developers try to cash in on the nostalgia of the original rather than put any actual effort into the remake. So they dumb it down and take out content.

It can be the same exact game with a few minor additions (big graphical advances too) and I would be happy. When they take away features they have lost me (and they almost always do). I’d rather it be 100 percent faithful.

Been checking out prices of second hand GPUs and cant believe my 5 year old 1080 still sells for £300+. I swear I only spent about £400 on it to begin with

The price of PC hardware is obscene at the moment, worst it’s ever been.

On this topic, there are rumours that the next AMD card will have more than twice the performance of the current top AMD card (6900 XT) which is on par with the 3080 from Nvidia. If true, the next series will be a massive step up.

Whatever I read on it seemed to be unsure if it was a new kotor game or a remake

I’d just like the original on switch as I never got around to progressing very far into it the one time I had an Xbox

Finished The first Ni No Kuni. Absolutely loved it. Going to try not and leave the sequel for too long, but it’s hard with so many other games

Did a quick run thru of Uncharted 2 before I pick up 3, as I wasn’t sure I’d actually finished. I hadn’t... some great action sequences in it

Now finally after the 5th attempt I have gotten into Witcher 3 and should see it through. I’m glad I kept coming back to it. So much to do, but I’m trying to just do the main story because of that pesky lengthy waiting list of games

Really wanted to start Alien Isolation but too expensive on ps store right now. Would be cool if it gets an upgrade for ps5 and I’d wait until I get one

The odd thing about FF7 Remake for me is that I loved it for completely different reasons to the original. It was more a reimagining than a straight up remake.

So while you're right it doesn't get near the original (it's hard to imagine anything that could really), the odd thing is it didn't really try to.

So with KOTOR, I hope they take the same approach - basically an "inspired by" sort of remake.

I'm still on my 1070...not paying $800+ to get any noticeable difference. 4K-60 isn't THAT great. Might as well just get a f'in console and save money.
