Computer games.

Played "Shadow of the colossus" last night on PS4 Pro. Never played it before... saw lots of glowing reviews for it and got it free on the PSN months ago so thought I'd give it a blast.

It certainly looks and sounds fantastic but......

I lasted abut half an hour before I binned it... Controls system was a nightmare and the whole basis of the game seemed so bland and repetitive... no substance to it... run about, follow a beam of light from your sword, find baddie, stab it repeatedly, try to climb up it, get thrown off, get bored to tears....... judging by how the critics were so taken with it and gave it such praise.... can't see how it it so highly rated.

It ain't just me is it? Am I missing something?

Some of the fights are very cool, the story is excellent. The play control and camera, yea, not good at all.

I love Shadow of the Colossus. I dont recall being bothered much by the controls, but that could be because i adored Ico and loved the new game from the start

having said that i wouldnt ignore a major flaw even if i loved a game, and i dont recall much problems with it

not go to Last Guardian yet

Haven't noticed it being worse on PS5 but it is just a bad game. Lack of competition from PES really sucks. I've spent a lot of time playing FIFA this year because of lockdown and because I like football games but it really is bad. The gameplay is a joke.

It's dire. And have had to have a massive mess around with the sliders.

Ps5 version though, don't think the trigger button resistance works well. Your stamina seems to run out a lot quicker too.

gave up on FIFA a couple years ago when E "if it's in the game, it's in the game" A did their huge Copa Libertadores DLC content and didn't include Guarani, who actually WERE in the group stages mind you, but included a bunch of other previously not-included SA sides who weren't in the Libertadores or even Sudamerica. Was the last straw after the debacle of the 2020 variant.

Switched to PES and forked over $5 or whatever for the patch that includes proper club names, logos and kits. Given Pes 2021 Season Update started at half price a definite no brainer.

Had been playing Mass Effect remastered after beating Bloodborne during the heightened pandemic/lockdown in Brazil these past six months.

PES or older FIFA games are just for the nights when I order copious amounts of craft cerveja.

Has anyone played the two Ori games? Available on various platforms. I think they're excellent but I suppose as always it depends on what you're into. Once I finish the second Ori I'm going to move on to Hollow Knight.

Streets of Rogue and Party hard 2 been on this week, both fairly low-fi games but I have miles more fun on games where gameplay is the priority over graphics.

I mean terraria is the best game I have ever played bar none, it is impossible to get bored there is so much to do and so much loot to collect, bloody brill game for £7. I might do a list of really good low-fi games that don't cost the earth but are extremely enjoyable. IF you're not a snob lol lol

Some of my all time favourite games are low key, indie games - including the much derided 'walking simulators'

Finished Bloodborne DLC last night - amazing game.

Just spoiled things a bit by doing too many chalice dungeons, so had a brute of a weapon that just steam-rollered everything (gemmed out whirligig saw). The Orphan of Kos is meant to be the hardest boss in all of Souls and I walloped him second go - Midir in Dark Souls 3 must have taken me 100 tries.
