Got the ps 5 Friday.. early Xmas present for the family… no need for me as I’m back into mine craft.. any suggestions .. brilliant picking the ps4 games we bought ..

Gaming chairs are generally pretty crap anyway so you’ve done him a favour.

If you’re going to get a chair then it’s best to get a proper office chair.

How old are the people playing it and what sort of games do they like?

In no particular order these are my favourite games I've had on PS5 that came out since it was released:

Ratchet & Clank
AC Valhalla
Deathloop
Miles Morales

Guardians of the Galaxy, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Far Cry 6 all good fun too. Ghost of Tsushima is brilliant if you haven't already played it on PS4.

Think that is the plan now yeah, have like 70 quid for currys still because they had a 10 % off tech so saved a few quid there. Got myself an elite controller for the xbox for that one time i remember that i have extra buttons. And the joy of playing games and randomly doing things by accident because i forget to program them!

i plan to upgrade my computer one day and we are going to do a proper little set up downstairs for him with chair and desk and stuff , perhaps as a birthday present when I can stomach buying a new processor.

I can remember lads at school getting a nes when they were wanting a SNES. Must have been some horrible Christmas scenes played out. Parents are more clues up now as they will generally have played consoles at some point.

This will be the first time he has ever got a brand new console rather than a current gen version. I have no plans to buy one for myself for a couple of years yet so even though its not the more expensive version, it will be a big surprise.

At the point where he knows Santa isn't real so one last time to give him a surprise before it just becomes him telling us what he wants every year!

For my two lads and me.. got guardians.. as the first buy and it came with demon souls and ratchet… got control now too and Valhalla ..

Ghost of Tsushima we played on ps4.. the game that must be even more amazing on ps5

Those extra buttons can come in handy. I have a Razer controller that works with my PS4 and PC and I've mapped L3 and R3 to the paddles on the back. It takes a bit of getting used to but I find it more comfortable. I find clicking the sticks a bit cumbersome.

Bloodborne is free on PS5 with the online subscription thing - that is some game. I think they might rotate the titles though?

Loved Demon Souls as well but am a bit of a Souls fanatic - it's a note by note remake of an old game, so while it looks amazing it plays kind of old school.
