Computer games.

Sigh .

You really don't get it do you. I know everything you have described there. I have played the game on and off since 2014.

The core concepts of the game are exactly the same as they have always been. I am not arguing that in the slightest. I bitterly dislike there players who inhabit it, rendering it into what is basically a crafting fps.

My son is quite an accomplished player, who only plays on PC. Without knowing you, I would probably say my kid has been playing rust not only longer than you, but in total time as well. I think the first time he played it was in 2018, and he has put thousands of hours across a variety of servers (he is a teenager after all)
Been playing it since 2013, again you are describing rust wrong, calling it just an FPS with crafting is just plain wrong.

I've played many sessions of rust for hours at a time without picking up a gun because there has been so much to do.

I get it's a public forum and you don't wanna conceed ground about being wrong, but you are here.

Been playing it since 2013, had around 3000 hours by about 2016 before stopping playing the game and picking up again in 2018.

Have about 10K hours over two accounts (other account is admin only as I'm server owner and admin on some other servers and need to be connected to the game twice to admin and play elsewhere)

Rust is the kind of the game, were someone with a 1000 hours or so is still considered a noob.

Your opinion on the game or its players is what ever, people can think what they want but your description of the game is just wrong.

The exposure you have described you and have had with rust isn't much really, which does explain your baffling description of it just being a Crafting FPS.

Except it IS a crafting fps.

My son described it as a "looter shooter"

It IS filled with a bunch of immature toxic racist kids.

Sorry to bad mouth "your" game mate, but it is what it is. And it's the current fad choice for a bunch of people i'd rather not associate or deal with.

I am sure, if you search the forum, you will see I have talked about rust before, and recommended it to people. Not now though. Certainly not now.......

And tbh, your attitude about it, going into full on defensive mode, because I didn't say something glowing about it, kinda just reinforces my opinion.

Can I just add, if you really do have over 10,000 hours in a single game, might I suggest stepping away from the computer once in a while...... It will really help out with so many things.

I think we can all agree that despite early promise Rust is pretty stupid game, with absolutely no disrespect meant to its thousands of little arseholes constantly stealing my stuff, and murdering me in cold blood on some godforsaken beach.

A pox on all your servers.

10,000 hours over 9 years, some as server admin when AFK.
Also being pretty much the only game played during those times the hours rack up, without spending all day at the computer like you suggest.
I work 50 hours per week as HGV driver, so I can hardly spend all day at a computer.

9 years is a long time.

One more time, it's not a crafting FPS, it's a survival sandbox.
The game isn't even categorized as an FPS.

I went defensive because you described the game as something that it isn't, that's it.
