Fifa isnt a football game any more, hasnt been for ages, its a card trading game, which wants its 14 year old fanbase to buy Fifa points.
Thats its market, it doesnt care that real gamers think its a joke, real gamers dont buy Fifa points.

Only got this one as a gift at Christmas otherwise wouldn't have bothered. Won't bother with the next one if it's anything like this.

EA's sports franchises have been deteriorating for years. They're sort of like movie franchises that have to produce new product once a year in order to please the corporate overlords, only worse. It's just not a long enough development cycle to get feedback, incorporate it, implement it and get a new product to market that is enough to motivate a switch.
Interact that with whale-hunting via providing tangible advantages through loot crates, and you get killing the golden goose for the eggs.
Such a good game. Took me a little bit of time to get into it but once I did I loved it. One of the best games I've played in the last few years

They’ve totally given up on the gameplay now though haven’t they, not fun at all. You either need to play 40 matches a week or spend £30 a week to keep up with everyone.
Seen some streamers say viewers prefer to watch the packs and sbcs than actual gameplay, just shows how crap it is!
Similar in cod how you can spend £60+ for the game then need to buy cod points (or whatever they’re called) on top of that to have the best version of guns…

It’s really insidious and cynical as well as a practice. Pretty much just absolutely milking people for objects which have absolutely no real world value

I was so, so, so close to getting a fabled 3080 at RRP. Stock dropped at 8.40pm. I’ve been glued to my phone and the stock drops for weeks and I missed out by a minute. Gutted.
