Computer games.

just seen this...the most effective ad for VR yet...with the Quest 2 you don't need a PC, and it's completely wireless. Gameplay is truly next-level...

Literally my 3

Tekken 3 specifically

... well maybe a toss up between resident evil 2 an FF...
PS1 was blessed with so many brilliant titles - It's got such a fantastic library of ground-breaking games that started to really push what home consoles could achieve. I remember seeing the original Wipeout game running in a mates when it first came out in '95 and I was like "I have to get one of these, that's boss". First titles I got with mine were International Superstar Soccer, Resident Evil and Ridge Racer. Great memories.

Res with dinosaurs. What a game
got that for the soundtrack, has that spooky 70's/80's synth vibes.

my parasite eve is in japanese, tho'...got a region-free console but no good when i don't understand anything.

rare as hen's bollocks that game, need to find an ntsc-u version.

you got ps1 going into HD telly? image can look crappy, depending on how your telly displays that video-signal. i got it going into an old Canon projector: yellow video-rca in...and the white/red ones going into a pair of meaty speakers: lovely massive image on a blank white wall, colours pop, not too pixely...and cinematic sound! but when i put same console into a modern hdmi-projector (Optoma) via rca/hdmi-adapter the pic is rubbish, loses half the resolution, tons of aliasing and flat colours.

so bit of trial 'n error involved.

X-com was great! First one was better for me though. Difficulty in the second one was ramped up to insane, couldn't persevere with it as it got too frustrating missing an 85 percent shot when the alien was right mext to you!
It wasn't the first one you are talking about. There was 3 before it, not counting the spin off arcade space fighter game.....

X-Com:Enemy Unknown (before it was renamed to UFO)
X-Com: Terror from the Deep
X-Com: Apocalypse

THEN the new modern one

Those were the Microprose published ones, that were amazing (and if you think X-Com 2 is hard.... Check out TFTD ......)

There was a 'modern' reimagining of those games called Xenonauts which is pretty darn good as well!

Yeah I never played the earlier PC ones.... only the console versions on ps3/4. I found the first modern one to be brilliant, really well graded difficulty curve, so every time you seemed to learn from your mistakes and progress just a bit further. The second one.... well it was great up until the programmers decided to throw three new threats a level at you with no preparation or warning! Those teleporting things were a nightmare. I am tempted to get Shadowrun after reading reviews, looks really smart that. Also Blade Runner on preorder physical for ps4 and switch goes live today..... deffo getting that

Just bought a Play Station 1 from my grandad.

Anyone any suggestions for top 3 games I should play?
A lot of games haven't aged well, so I'll recommend some that I think have, as well as slightly less.common games

Parasite Eve 2

You will have to adjust to old Resident Evil style Tank Controls, but once you do this game is a proper survival horror experience.
No need to have played the first game, story is easy enough to follow.

CastleVania Symphony of the Night

Some think this is the best of the castlevania, it's open world and still looks great. Controls are spot on it's very hard but feels fair, similar to the diffelculty of Dark Souls.

Chrono Cross

This is a must, it's a classic JRPG a sequel to the SNES classic Chrono Trigger.
I liked this just as much as Final Fantasy VII back in the day.
Encaptivating storyline, endearing characters and an amazing soundtrack on par with Final Fantasy VII.

This game hasn't been released on any other platforms, so PS1 is the only place to play it.

This game is in my top 3-5 favourite games of all time it's so much fun, and a real time sink.
