No way near enough love for the N64 round here. Couple of majestic releases, perfect dark, mario kart, diddy kong racing, and then the Mac Daddy of the lot, Goldeneye.
My Grandson got a switch for Xmas, spent the last week playing Mario Kart, defo a GOAT game that.

Unbeatable aren't they?

[also, cracking multiplayer, lots of laughs and a race system that tries to even the score between skilled and less so - mario kart]

Always loved arcades as a kid. Would go to the local pool hall and get a few quid changed into 10ps and spend weekends playing street fighter 2, toki, wrestlefest, shinobi, final fight or mortal kombat.

Went years without playing any games but with recently got a switch for our boys and we all play together. 4 player on mario kart or super smash bros... Great fun

Arcades were sound.

Grim these days, I take my Grandson and I end up just walking around with a £1 in my hand looking for something worth playing, there never is.

Loads for him like.

I probably have a rose tinted memory, no doubt they were a bit sketchy back then. Smokey and dark place with poker machines and shady characters. My folks were definitely not aware I frequented such establishments!

The modern arcades are probably £5 per go. Would cost a bloody fortune

Used to get a fiver off my mar, bunk the train to New Brighton and spend all day with just my fiver and still have enough for chips.

Bought it from Ebay about 20 years ago, only paid £27 for it. Guy said it was a shop demo and they found it when they were doing a refurb on the store.

Finally need to get rid of it as it's taking up too much room now. Not got a clue where to sell it though or how much for?
Whack it on ebay and claim it the first pal version in the country that was used for exhibitions. ;)

Speccy 48k..

Wow. We used to play Gauntlet on that for 10 hours Saturday and Sunday. Had to leave it turned on over night so we could carry on. Eventually reached level 200 thinking we'd complete it and it carried on.. so we turned it off! 🤣
My parents used to stay up all night clocking Renegade 4x in a row. My mate had a speccy 3+, I was so envious of a disc drive. My mate (RIP) had an Amiga 500, that was an unbelievable machine at the time.
