Computer games.

System histories? The order's muddled and there's plenty of computer/console/handheld crossover with multiple systems sometimes owned at once as my Dad wasn't remotely into consoles but he loved a bit of RailRoad Tycoon or a Gary Grigsby war game.

Also tended to swap systems with mates or part exchange / sell / buy in the local paper classifieds so got to try out a lot of different consoles without spending much money and sometimes making a bit.

Atari 2600
ZX Spectrum 48k
ZX Spectrum + (cabbaged the original Spectrum plugging in a Kempston interface while still powered on!)
ZX Spectrum +2
Amiga 500 / 500+ (can't remember which one - possibly both, we broke a lot of computers)
Amiga 1200 (Switched to PC once Championship Manager stopped being released on Amiga)
Master System
SNES
Megadrive
GameBoy
3DO (bought off a mate once it had completely flopped - remember either the HMV or Virgin megastore in Liverpool flogging the games off for less than a fiver each)
Game Gear
PS1
PS2
PS3
Xbox
Xbox 360 (Red Ring Of Death)
Xbox One (In a cupboard somewhere)

PC & Xbox Series X these days. That'll do me for a good long while.

I probably have a rose tinted memory, no doubt they were a bit sketchy back then. Smokey and dark place with poker machines and shady characters. My folks were definitely not aware I frequented such establishments!

The modern arcades are probably £5 per go. Would cost a bloody fortune
There are arcade places, you pay about 15 notes and you can play unlimited times all day I think.

There's one in Leeds, Bury and maybe Liverpool but not certain. Loads of classic games golden axe, street fighter etc.. plus a tonne of other stuff from China or Japan. Loads of racing games etc... it was 15 quid when i went Oct last year

zx spectrum +
Nintendo
Megadrive
SNES
Amiga 500
Amiga 500 plus
Amiga 600
Amiga 1200 (Dixons had a good return policy, hand in a ‘broken’ Amiga in warranty and they issued a new Amiga. However the next model was usually the only one in stock :-))
PC pentium command and conquer and champ man machine, graphic adventures tomb raider
PC pentium II as above
PS2
Xbox 360
Xbox 360 again
PS4

I now play my kids Xbox and PC when I can!

Atari 2600
NES
SNES
Dell PC
N64
PS1
GameCube
XBOX
Dreamcast*
Megadrive* (bought these two when I thought I'd start a bit collection of consoles and classic games but never kept at it)
PS2
DS
Wii
PS3
PS4
Switch

Have a loan of an Xbox S now and want to get a Steam Deck and/or PC at some point

Nothing will beat the memory of that NES packaged with the Turtles game sitting under the xmas tree in the 80s when I was a kid. We are a big family with lots of kids and didn't have much money back then so it wasn't expected at all. Feels like we'd spent years asking for a C64 but that was forgotten once the NES arrived

We went on holiday to Canada in the 80s and hired the nes with turtles from blockbuster or whatever it was called there. Blew my mind that game!!

I completed it again in the last couple years on an emulator, just wanted to get that nostalgia hit of the last level. Spent so long trying to finish it with my brothers. Weirdly Gremlins 2 is another strong memory. Snake Rattle & Roll, Battletoads, Marble Madness and Low G Man too. More so than Mario really even tho I loved all 3. Don't think we ever owned a Mario game on NES, all borrowed from kids at school. Swapping games

Did you not find turtles was actually quite hard? I played it on an emulator too and thought it was solid! 🤣🤣

I need to get an emulator up and running again..

My mate had a Sega Saturn (his parents bought him). The only person I knew in the whole world that had one.. You are now the second person!

TBH, I thought it was crap.. He had like only 4 games too..
It was crap, I missed out on so many games.
Only had a few games my self because they were very expensive, however I got to rent a game weekly from blockbuster.so probably played most.games the system had.

Resident Evil was my favourite game on it, there was also a game I rented multiple times called Deep Fear which was unique to the Saturn it was a Resident type of game.

Ye it was! I spammed it through with save states just to get to the end
Tried a game like this a while back - fond memories of me and a friend sitting down and beating it with just one or two lives lost. Man I lost all my lives in the first 15 min, how did we do it in 1 go when we were like 10 lol
Anyone got any emulator recommendations? I got a folder of games from someone a few years a go. I'm sure there's 5-6000 games in there for like a dozen systems but I don't know how to get it working..
