Computer games.

Finally got around to fitting the 100% PTFE skates to my mouse. It was feeling a bit tired but now it glides like no mouse has ever glid.

The left and right buttons were also a bit squeaky. Little bit of grease here and there and it's got a new lease of life.

I almost feel like a virgin again. It's been so long.

I'm guilty in that I got an iPhone and Watch recently, honestly love it, it just works. Otherwise I prefer/like/encourage FOSS for all things where it could be done for work and home.
Lets's be honest, Apple's products are restrictive as heck, but for mobile devices the vast majority of the time you just need them to perform simple tasks quickly and consistently, which they excel at. The simplicity of Apple's products just works for most people, such as my 70 year old Dad who has an iPhone, Watch and an iPad.

For me it's Apple for mobile devices, and a proper Windows PC for work and more advanced tasks. Best combination, in my opinion.

Agreed and same, addition of Linux for some stuff too - refurbished laptop used as a media station basically, etc. etc.

SO uses her phone much more and values all the customisation and all, but I'm pretty meh - occasional social media, 2FA, password manager and that's that really.

Linux is another level of nerd that I have not yet reached.

Another thing I like about iPhone over Android is that (at least until I last heard) the bar for entry is higher on the App Store compared to Google Play.

Nobody wants viruses on their PC, let alone their phone, which often contains even more sensitive data. I honestly think the restriction is one of the major positives for many people.

Looks really good. Hopefully someone comes out with an update to have historical cars available.

It’s an official WEC game so no modding but I guess there may be a chance of classic cars in the future if it's a success.

I'm not sure how long its shelf life will be though, the publisher Motorsport Games is constantly on the verge of bankruptcy and has a bit of a dodgy reputation. Also, iRacing has the biggest update in its history (rain) coming out in 2 weeks and Assetto Corsa 2 is due for release in a few months as well. Going up against iRacing & Kunos is a tall order. Hopefully, it's a success.

I recommend it, even if it's as a dualboot, just so you can see how things work underneath it all. If you do go that route - partition your data drive for however much you can spare (100GB is enough for trying most things) and put linux on that partition, don't put it just "free space" as that tends to eff up a bit, what with having 2 systems on the same disks essentially.

Easier and more hassle-free approach is a virtual machine via virtualbox (or PM an Eastern European for a VMWare Workstation Pro 100% legit code just saying x) as it's free, pick a distribution, and experiment to your heart's content!

Or, ultimately, WSL is a thing too, but harder to wrap your head around if you've not used linux at least a bit.

Think this is the year I finally take the plunge in to proper sim racing.

I’m thinking I might start with Assetto Corsa Competizione, as I’m most familiar with GT3 and GT4 cars from Gran Turismo Sport.

Think I might be interested in this

Read people saying it would be similar in style to subnautica. A game I have owned for a while but never played. Mainly as underwater parts of games make me claustrophobic.

Do love the idea of owning a station wagon in a post apocalyptic setting though.

Interesting. Likewise have had Subnautica for ages without playing it! Looked to cool watching other ppl play, just never got into it myself.
