CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

He's a better manager than the knife to gunfight bollocks. Given a reasonable budget and squad could you not see him playing attacking expansive football over an entire season, like we have seen from January onwards for the last few seasons?

He played gash football when we had an amazing squad too though. When we're struggling he goes back to basics. He's fundamentally a reactive manager too, and to succeed you have to set the tempo, not respond to it in the 79th minute.

Listen, I respect what he's done for us and he was the right man at the right time. But I don't think the same could be said if he goes to United. I fully expect him to flop.

Oh it's utterly insane and I still can't quite believe it.

But andy carroll cost 35 million, sometimes insane things happen.

Avram Grant got to manage one of the best teams in the world, too.

It's far from insane though, that's just your perspective - which is driven by your skewed view of the man.

It's alright lads, we'll sell Baines to United in the summer and that'll allow us to generate not only enough money to pay compensation to get a new manager in, but we might also have enough left over for add a freebie and loanee from League Two in, too.

If SAF thinks Moyes can manage and be successful at one of the biggest clubs in world football... That's down to him and his judgement.

But the betting man would look at the guy that will deliver success. That's Jose.

Put it this way... Jose goes to Chelsea, Moyes to United... United don't win the league.

The thing is though that Moyes will be shadowed by Ferguson at first anyway

They clearly hope he will grow into the role to the point where he will eventually be ready to go it alone

The more I think about this, I'm actually more upset at the prospect of Baines leaving than I am Moyes leaving (I'm sure that the two would leave togetehr if Moyes gets the United gig)

Just remember guys...

Asked if discussions with possible replacements had occurred, Kenwright said: "Does the phone ring? Yes. What is my response? My response is very simple - Everton Football Club has its manager."

So when we're floundering around at the end of August with no manager there's only one person to blame.

The fact he's never won anything wont deter United. Plenty of crap mangers have won things.

Careful what you wish for mate.

I don't think Moyes is the messiah or whatever but do you have any confidence in this gang of muppets in charge to make the right choice with the next appointment?

I'm not wishing for anything mate.

He's probably going one way or another, nothing we can do about it and no point dwelling on it.

Our board were competent enough to hire a young, driven, aspiring young manager just over 11 years ago.

I for one will get right behind whoever is our new manager.

The other alternative is to sulk and feel sorry for ourselves, when the reality is everyone should have at least been wary that this was going to happen, he wouldn't have ran his contract down otherwise.

“We have to look forward now and I think any manager coming in will inherit a great squad and great staff around him. It is a dream job. I won’t speculate on the announcement but I think we will move relatively quickly,”

“In Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex we got in managers who got involved in all aspects of the club. That degree of loyalty is crucial to the success of Manchester United. He (the next manager) needs the required football experience in terms of domestic and European requirements, so it is a small pool.”

IMO

Moyes has intentionally ran his contract down to put himself in a position of strength to secure a new job.
Knowing our financial state, he has put us in a position of very, very limited compensation thus shafting the club and the new manager.

I for one, do not deny him the chance to better, but i feel his own agenda has very much been in place for a long time.

I rate this scenario as bad as any player winding down their contract or manoevering a move away themselves ie Lescott

Good luck to him tho

Agreed.....though I hope he falls flat on his face if he goes to OT.

Again, it's hard not to point the finger at Kenwright whom loaded the gun which Moyes has been holding to his head since January.

The sooner Kenwright joins Moyes outside the club the better as far as I am concerned.
