Spot on, if Moyes goes then the board should sell asap, if we have no Moyes, then kenwright should sell asap for letting us lose the best manager we've had in a long time to our rivals, could be worse he could be signing for Liverpool.

Kenwright just won't sell we all know that although he has now lost his shield.

Same here.

Pleased for Moyes as he deserves a crack at a club capable of backing his ambition. I hope it works out for him.

Now we're left with Kenwright entrusted to pick his successor, I fear he'll go for the path of least resistance & hire ****ing Martinez.
If he goes, I wish him well in his new job, but i'm shocked cos I wasnt expecting this,

My issue with a new manager is not so much someone coming in and getting the team playing badly and us falling down the league initially....We have good players which should give some breathing space....My biggest issue is moyes strongest point IMO has been bringing in very good players for little sums of money. We have very little spare money and a new manager makes a few wrong decisions in the transfer market ins & outs and you could see us plummet down the table, before long being on the same standing as your sunderlands, fulham's, villa ffs.

Scary times...

Couldn't agree more but apparently this is unlikely and its far more likely we will win loads of cups now whilst getting better in the league.
Even if we fail I am told it will be better than being stuck in a fight for europe.
I'm with you but at least several on here will be made up regardless.

Christ lads, Moyes ISN'T Everton. We will continue. We will survive.

F*cking hell.

Careful what you wish for mate.

I don't think Moyes is the messiah or whatever but do you have any confidence in this gang of muppets in charge to make the right choice with the next appointment?

Fair enough, lads. Like I said, seems utterly bizarre.

He's got clear, proven talents, but they're really not any of the talents needed to win the league/champions league. We'll see if he's also got what it takes to succeed at the other end then. No more knife to a gunfight excuses, at least.
He's a better manager than the knife to gunfight bollocks. Given a reasonable budget and squad could you not see him playing attacking expansive football over an entire season, like we have seen from January onwards for the last few seasons?

Probably the worst thing that could happen if Moyes does go.

Aston Villa have loads of history too lad, the world doesn't work on history and prestige.

Before Moyes came we were consistently at the bad end of the table. The finances haven't improved since then, the reason we are where we are is because of the squad he has put together.

Assuming we'll be sound because 'we're Everton' is dodgy.

Well said. The old days of Walter Smith has come.

Sheeds also heard that Martinez was nailed on to Liverpool and Shearer to Cardiff.

He also said Mourinho to united in this very thread

Behave yourself. As far as I can see you just washed up on the GOT shoreline from somewhere else.

We were so ****ing close too, now who knows what'll happen. We'll get O'Neill or Pardew after he is sacked and I'll become suicidally depressed.

Prove me wrong BK.

Oh it's utterly insane and I still can't quite believe it.

But andy carroll cost 35 million, sometimes insane things happen.

Avram Grant got to manage one of the best teams in the world, too.

IMO

Moyes has intentionally ran his contract down to put himself in a position of strength to secure a new job.
Knowing our financial state, he has put us in a position of very, very limited compensation thus shafting the club and the new manager.

I for one, do not deny him the chance to better, but i feel his own agenda has very much been in place for a long time.

I rate this scenario as bad as any player winding down their contract or manoevering a move away themselves ie Lescott

Good luck to him tho
