CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

In full agreement mate.

Someone even suggested we should make a "Thanks David" thread. Pathetic

You're very bitter, aren't you?

Why should he not be thanked? He's ran this club fantastically since he arrived here, and with great dignity too. Something which I'm fairly sure you're totally devoid of.

Don't joke about that mate! I'll sack these off and support Tranmere FFS!

I understand entirely the upset over this. I'm a bit upset too but I've been prepared for this since the start of the season, so maybe it hurts less.

We're in no worse financial shape than West Brom, Fulham etc... I.E. mid table teams, so I think the worst we can hope for over the next few years is 10th or so. However, as Brennan pointed out before, just look at Villa. It can easily happen.

It's a setback, no doubt. And yeah, I feel the same. If United have massive success under Moyes then you've got to look at our rich board and think of what could have been.
West Brom and Fulham both have very good above average managers in Jol and Clarke. I'd be very happy with a manager of that quality as a Moyes replacement, and neither of those clubs look like challenging top 6 anytime soon. I'd say that we have a ceiling of about 8th rather than a floor of around 10th, unless we bring in a brilliant manager. Sunderland, Newcastle, Villa, and Stoke have all spent comfortably more than us in the past five years and are all in danger of being relegated. And that's not even bringing the QPRs, Birmingham Citys, Portsmouths, etc into the conversation.

I guess I just see far more downside than upside with his departure.

I'm not angry or disappointed that Moyes is leaving. I'm angry that the board has done nothing to make him want to stay. If we do manage to get a man of high quality in next, how long do you think he will stick around for with this group of owners?

Bottom line I want Everton to be a destination, not a stepping stone. For players and managers.

managers always take some of their players with them, Utd need a LB and we have the best one in the league, 2+2 =4

Jagielka would also be targeted IMO

I knew I never should have listened to you lot who said a CL team would never in a million years hire Moyes. Even though I disagreed with you it still gave me some reassurance on some level. Blerg!

IF it happens will you all just say you were wrong and leave it at that? Or shift the blame to Man U. and say they are crazy to hire him and you were still right somehow?

The latter for me. Mind if they go on and win every trophy in sight again, I'll suck it up and take the I told you sos.

Vítor Pereira's contract runs out this summer. So free. Then there is roberto di matteo, mark hughes and martin o"neil so maybe just maybe one of those. Then no club payment fees to pay.If roberto martinez resigns after wigan are relegated (IF) then no fee again

Announcement will be made on Friday at the latest that Moyes will be United's new manager.

I've said all along that I'd have one of Clark or Jol, so I agree with you there.

I agree with pretty much all that you've said here. The only thing I'd say is I reckon Moyes has known there's a possibility of this for a while now and in which case the board never had any chance of keeping hold of him.

And yeah, we need another stable manager. I don't want to be like West Brom (even though they've done well) and go through a new manager every year or two. But then that can work also.

Round to take the press conference on Friday, West Ham to smash us on Saturday, Moyes to be paraded at Old Trafford on Sunday. Ace week.

Have to say I'm getting sick already of people elsewhere talking about us as if we're ****ing Norwich City or something. Yes, there will be a lot of new challenges and pressure on Moyes but plenty of managers can only dream of managing Everton. These people can shove their "Everton will go back to battling relegation as they used to do" up their arses as well.

I still don't believe that Manchester United are going to hire David Moyes.

To be honest, as much as I appreciate the job he's done at Everton, the fact he's been endorsing Bill Kenwright for eleven years does leave a sour taste. I wish him well but don't expect him to last long at an elite club because I don't think he's good enough.

God knows who Everton would end up appointing.
