FFS, seeing out your contract and leaving at the end of it isn't '****ing over' anybody. Why should he have signed a contract he didn't intend to see out ? Just so we get a couple of mill compo ? No.

so how was it so different when lescott shafted us. Both had the same agenda, career prospects, more money, better opportunities.... moyes whored himself last year for the Spurs job, he knew he was going he has just put himself in a better position to get a new job

"He would get up in the middle of the night and travel 300 miles if he thought there was a school boy that he could sign. He loves the game and we at the club have had nothing to do really."

ALERT OPERATION YEWTREE

I was thinking more about stakeholders terror at a short-term share price drop than anything else. It depends on the narrative that goes around the appointment, I guess, and one of stability and continuity can certainly be built around a Moyes one.

It looks like everyone who isn't employed to have an opinion is sure Moyes has gone anyway. Weird. And also funny, if true, that the guy who finally established Everton as the better team on Merseyside now replaces the guy who usurped Liverpool as the most successful team in the country.

Shares will go down regardless of who is appointed. You don't lose someone like Ferguson and expect to maintain your valuation.

The only upside here for Everton it will be a quick process regardless of who is named. The market will dictate that.

Fact is Lescott went into a game for us and didn't even give 10%, Moyes has tried his best for the best of 11 years.

My god I'm starting to think Moyes is actually going to be offered the job. Most of the fans would want Murhino I think

I'm not wishing for anything mate.

He's probably going one way or another, nothing we can do about it and no point dwelling on it.

Our board were competent enough to hire a young, driven, aspiring young manager just over 11 years ago.

I for one will get right behind whoever is our new manager.
I will too, even if it's someone I absolutely detest, even if it was Tony Pulis (gag). I'll be optimistic and hope we have a whiz of a manager come in who can take us where Moyes couldn't. Hope springs eternal.

I just look at our finances and look at what teams with similar finances have done (with average managers) and most of them have been relegated at one point or another. Therefore I fear the worst and I can't celebrate his departure. The major problem with this club has been the ownership, and not the manager.

Selfishly I will be hoping that Moyes doesn't succeed at United, number one because I don't much care for United, and number two because it will be gutting to know that given a bit of financial support he could have taken us to the top of the world.

massive accomplishment for Moyes if he gets the Man U gig

what an honor, he'll be missed

Cant believe another Blue has written this, I expect 'little Everton' sh!te from ignorant journos or even the FSW but let's remember when SAF took over at Man Utd we'd won 1 more league title than them, this became 2 in his first year. Get a grip football wasnt invented by sky

You would think they would rather have Jose who proves he can handle the pressure, won titles in this league, won the cl cup with different leagues, want to come back to the premiership, is a fan of Man u. Its strange unless Jose wants Chelsea more.

I'd be scared if I were a United fan.

Do they think Moyes will inspire the same win-as-all-costs attitude that Ferguson did over 25 years?

Do they think Moyes will get his teams working right up to the 95th minute in search of a winner?

He's too negative a manager for Manchester United, and I am quite confident he'll prove that.

City must be absolutely buzzing at this.
