CONFIRMED: Moyes Leaving - All Reaction Here

Its well known him and Ferguson are big mates, he has a lot of influence at the club and will probably help him along the way.

But I'm still shocked that the board have allowed this and the fact they're handing Mourinho to one of their rivals.

Whether mouriniho goes Chelsea or utd he will be gone again in 3/4 yrs successful or not. Moyes IF it works out would stay at utd for the long haul as fergie did.

Everyone was saying that about Barca before Guardiola left, though, and they haven't done anywhere near as well since. Plus United's team is inferior to City's and even maybe Chelsea's when you consider them as individuals.

I wouldn't say Moyes and Ferguson are similar in their playing style. Managing style I'm not sure. Just because they're both Scottish and scary doesn't mean they're similar as managers.

Barca have near enough won the league!

Moyes has shown he can influence attacking football, when he has the right personnel as we've seen a few times this season. Their management style seems to be pretty similar, from determination (to a certain extent), motivation and player management and the hairdryer treatment.

Cups, cups, cups, cups. Derbies, Derbies, Derbies. Style of football, playing kids. If we can't break into the top 4 no matter who oru manager is then we shouldn't judge managers on league positions. But on the other stuff. You can excite crowds without gettign 4th.
My concern about the whole "I'd rather finish 15th and do better in Cups and derbies" attitude is that finishing 15th is going to make it more difficult for us to win Cups and win derbies in the future. That's serious money we'd be missing out on which is going to weaken the team moving forward. Stable league finishes are a great platform to build a Cup challenge.

Yeah Moyes didn't get a Cup but it doesn't automatically mean we have to do the complete opposite next time. A hybrid of stability in the league and a more aggressive attitude is ideal.

I agree in one way: "did he (or she!) get us fourth or not?" isn't the only (or even best) way to judge a manager. But league position in the sense of a stable top half finish which gives us a reliable influx of cash IS very important.

If we're stable in the league I think the Cup will come. We've only won 5 domestic cups in over a hundred years -- we're not even overdue yet (sadly).

[Poor language removed]'s sake.

I'm so grateful to Moyes. Top man, great manager and the hardest working one in the league. Put in a hell of a shift for us and yet I still don't think the fans took him to their hearts as much as he deserved. Guess that's what you get managing a club with fans desperate for a pot.

1 fourth place, 2 fifth places, 2 sixth places (pending...), 3 7th places an 8th and only two bottom half finishes. Brought us Cahill, Arteta, Fellaini, Baines, et al and looks to have had us finishing above the sh*te 3 times. Who could have foreseen that 11 years ago? Gutted he'll never win silverware here. He deserved it, in my eyes.

I wish the man all the best at United. Christ, with them pissing off the sh*te so much and now this it's really going to be a task for me to dislike them from now on.

Let's hope the next fella can have us finishing in the top 6 and winning trophies with a negative net spend eh? COYB and [Poor language removed] right off Bill Kenwright.

our own faults if we fall down the table as the fans have done **** all to remove that cancerous Redcoat and his gang of rich aristocrats from the board first time we look dominant on Merseyside we lose our manager who will inevitably take 1-2 of our best players with him.

The Blue Union should of had 10-15,000 strong supporters marching down to GP week in week out at getting rid of that parasite/

Moyes went out of his way to discourage the fans from opposing Kenwright. He wouldn't swap his chairman for any other.

Too right mate, Redcoats galore, Neville too

I like David Moyes and appreciate the job he has done at Everton with his hands tied behind his back. However, once all the financial side is out of the window and it came to football his negativity has meant him and us have constantly bottled it.

No win at Anfield, Utd, Arsenal or Chelsea. I appreciate its difficult but he had 45 attempts at it. We have won two big games in his 11 years in my opinion Sunderland and Man Utd semi. We have lost dozens of big games. Iv still never forgot that performance in Florence.

Also I can count on one hand the amount of time he has made the first substitution in games. Plus he has ruined centre forward after centre forward. Andy Johnson was electric when he first signed and ended up a winger.

I honestly think he will struggle at utd. He is great at finding lower division players and managing finances, but he wont be required to do that there. I havnt got a single positive thing to say about his ability to manage a football match.

I personally would go for Martinez, not sure about him defensivily but I just want to see an Everton team pass the ball again.

Up the Toffees

If Moyes leaves within the next few days, Kenwrights hand will b forced into action sooner rather than later - which is good. I feared a summer where the manager would be appointed late July.

Yep, but under Guardiola they pissed the Champions League twice.

If David Moyes isn't announced as the new #MUFC tomorrow I shall eat my own face #NailedOn :)

This summer is going to be brilliant!
