Conor McAleny.

I say take him as a back up striker this season. He isnt getting any younger so either he proves himself now or we let him drop to his level and have a succseful career. But on the basis of lukaku first choice, we could do a lot worse than kone and Mcaleney as back up if we arent splashing the cash.

Conor does this every preseason, looks decent then goes missing for the actual season.

Mianly because he doesn't get picked past pre-season

He had one competitive start last season in the Europa, and didn't get another chance

Hopefully, should he do well for the rest of pre-season, he'll get a League Cup start and maybe some appearances as a sub in the league. I really feel Conor has potential to be a good player, but he's going to need the chance to get some momentum going

I would like to see Oviedo, McAleny and Deulofeu all being rotated on the wings during Pre-Season and whoever does the best out of the three should start alongside Mirallas on the wings come the first League Fixture

Oviedos gonna do well with a broken toe like
I dont and never have got the deal with wanting to play oviedo on the wing anyway. He is better at LB

Yes, but he won't get that much game time at LB, LB doesn't mean Left Back for us, LB means Leighton Baines and it's gonna be like that for the next 2 seasons at least. And when Baines is injured we have Garbutt and even Galloway, both of whom can deputize.

We're still short in the wingers department, so to play Oviedo there seems logical.
At least for now.

Out of interest...
you've chosen Mirrallas because I guess you rate him? Think he has the most talent?
Yet you don't think Pienaar should be part of the equation?
Yet you don't think that Deulofeu clearly has more talent, like Mirrallas, than the other 2?
Deulofeu, ex-Barca, isn't better or more suited than a LB and an untried and untested 22 year old who has shown collectively about 45 seconds of quality...against Swindon.

Makes zero sense to me mate.

I think Pienaar is done mate

Nothing against him, I just think he's finished

Strange case with McAleny, only 22 but seems like he's been about to 'breakthrough' forever. That volley on his debut at the Emirates had us excited, but subsequent injuries and the emergence of other youth team players in that time has dented his progress. Honestly presumed his time with us was up, but if he can impress in pre-season maybe it just might be his time.

Great hair indeed. But all young lads seems to have the same barnets these days...girls too...its all so androgynous...

How much have you watched him play Mikey ?

I've seen him less than I'd like to, but enough to know that he has something there.

He's one of those players who needs minutes now so we can see what sort of player he's going to be.

The most important thing is that I don't think he'd sink like a stone if he were to play for the first team. Whether he'd be good enough to claim a regular first team spot, I don't know. It's a very delicate time for his development now. He's going to need the full support of the fan base

Very quick feet and seems like he sees the bigger picture in his head. Got the attributes you'd want for someone playing off the front man.

Lets see if he can do it against tougher opposition

Reminds me of Adrian Heath.

Martinez sees him an awful lot and clearly hasn't thought he's ready for regular game time though, and as you've just admitted you haven't seen much of him.
