I just thought in that game Chris Long looked a better prospect! not who was playing where!

Yes Long did look a lot better in that game but McAleny would have been mentally psyching himself up for playing the central role and think it threw the poor lad to be shifted out onto the wing before he'd even got over his inital match nerves.

TBF their were too many changes in that game to view, and see how good any of the youngsters were, but Longs pace looked very good!
 
Really happy to see him progressing. Recovering from that injury must have been misery, both physically and mentally.

It would be great to see him develop into a solid squad player over the next couple years, especially with the FA looking to boost homegrown player numbers.
 


Raised expectations. A real missing ingredient, great-white-hope type in the mould of last season's Garbutt if Martinez does the right thing and doesn't play him much. Otherwise, could be a real dark horse for Scapegoat of the Season if he can nail down a first team place.
