I know 3 nurses here in East Cheshire, all work in a 'hot spot' 2 have tested positive for Covid 19, not serious, none have worked 'any harder' than usual.
That's not a guideline in anyway, just 'experience'.

Do you think that the threat has been exaggerated? I can’t see it myself. Right Wing governments seemed to be the most reluctant to put in any kind of restrictive measures and I tend to believe that these governments are more beholden to the bourgeoisie.

What do you mean by right wing? Belarus didn't have any lockdown and Sweden with minimal lockdown has a leftist (social democrat) government.

There seems to be a generally agreed view that if you are against lockdown you are some swivel eyed crazed fascist and it's just not true.

Freedom to travel internationally and at will, lost lots of employment opportunities, lost the pleasure of hanging around with family and friends, lost the chance of going to matches and live music, lost the opportunity to use the gym 24hrs, and so on. I know it's easy for anyone to disagree with me and call me names but I have been convinced all along that the lockdown was a huge over reaction imposed with as yet unknown underlying purposes.

And I believe its beginning to dawn on many other people too.

In the tories defence, when people and the media said they were unprepared I can say hands down they were prepared HOWEVER a choice at some level was made not to act on the problem and release the funding.

It’s cold calculated propaganda the likes of which many normal civilians will never believe, no available test kits? That’s incorrect, funding was released 1 week before BJ’s 100k test kits a day promise, those kits sat in storage for weeks.
In that time over 25k people died.

No medical grade masks for the NHS? Also bull.

The media hype created the need, caused mass panic and then all of a sudden the tories swoop in and save the day. That’s the game that was played. They were prepared but they waited until it got so much attention it appeared the tories pulled the strings to save the day.

One day someone in government will open the can of worms, the timeline of events may shock some.

Are you familiar with the concept of 'disaster capitalism'? ( Naomi Klein does a great piece on New Orleans after the floods), I believe this 'government' is using this situation in that way. I think there is a virus, I think it's a big threat, I also think that the response to it creates many opportunities for controlled profit or the protection of the societal structure.
I don't think anyone has to be Sherlock to see which way this has gone.
