Conspiracy theories

The pro lockdown people can be equally categorised as hysterical terrified drama queens, lazy public sector workers etc .
@Groucho just out of interest, how is this acceptable yet calling Tea_drinker a ball bag is unacceptable?

There are many supporters of lockdown on this forum, and presumably many public sector workers too.

I'm not trying to be a smartarse, that's a genuine question.

The idea that the virus isn’t real is preposterous. However, the prospect of it being created in a lab isn’t far fetched at all, and the so-called debunking of this theory via ‘fact checking’ only demonstrates how unreliable the supposed ‘fact checking’ is.

They have NOT been able to unequivocally discount the prospect that this virus has derived from that huge virus testing laboratory that just happened to be located in Wuhan.

I don’t consider the prospect that it was released deliberately to be far fetched either, although I think it could also have very easily been an accident.

It will be interesting to see what happens next and who benefits? If it ends up with Bill Gates getting a deal to sell a mandatory vaccination to everyone in the world, then you will forgive me for being a bit skeptical.

The prospect of having ‘health passports’ that are scanned through tiny microchips implanted in the human body is extremely disconcerting. It may sound like science fiction, but it is now known that the release of a deadly virus can bring the whole world to its knees, and that Governments and their people will accept nearly anything when they are scared to death. The technology required to have a scannable ‘health passport’ implanted in the human body probably already exists.

We will have to wait and see what happens, but if any solution involves Bill Gates then I will certainly be raising an eyebrow!
Yes, it could have been made in a lab, but it is more likely that it has mutated from an animal virus.
Yes, there is a virus testing lab in Wuhan, just as there is is practically every major city in the world.
Fact checking is reliable, that's why it is called fact checking.
Bill Gates will not be getting a deal to sell mandatory vaccinations worldwide.
We are not getting microchipped.

Why so anti Bill Gates he hardly needs a pandemic to make money and the man has given more to charity than most governments??

I’m a public sector worker. I work in the NHS and have done for nearly 20 years. It’s not about whether or not you agree with the point being made, it’s about being civil.

Calling someone a drama queen, as I call my daughter all the time, is fair. Calling someone a ball bag is not.

This will not be discussed further.

Hello, public sector worker here - I wasn’t really a fan of lockdown, however as I am a key NHS worker who worked daily as normal throughout, I’m not sure what makes me lazy while the rest of the world worked at home.

I was delivering face to face patient care several times a day.

Please elaborate.

I used those terms in response to a comment from Jimmy jeffreys as he wrote that anti lockdowners are gammons and mad anti vax types so I was simply pointing out that either side could call each other names. It wasnt a personal attack on any individual or group, was just used as a comparison as how both views shouldnt be stereotyped.

Ok fair enough, thanks for the response.

Can I still call Klopp a ball bag?

Love the anti vaccination brigade on social media, ask them if they've had polio and the conversation stalls.
To be fair, there's a lot more holes in their "theory". They think vaccinations cause autism. They think being autistic is the same as being stupid, and therefore easily controlled by governments.

I made the point earlier about conspiracy theories usually originating from America. I think its because America is a juvenile country. The culture has been shaped by Hollywood and fox news. They became the world's super power without the usual invasions/wars over hundreds of years etc so became paranoid about constantly being under threat of losing that status. They have tried to show their might recently through ill conceived wars with Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. None of which went as expected. They're also disturbingly patriotic.
