Conspiracy theories

The study concludes:

"Although the evidence shows that SARS-CoV-2 is not a purposefully manipulated virus, it is currently impossible to prove or disprove the other theories of its origin described here. However, since we observed all notable SARS-CoV-2 features, including the optimized RBD and polybasic cleavage site, in related coronaviruses in nature, we do not believe that any type of laboratory-based scenario is plausible. More scientific data could swing the balance of evidence to favor one hypothesis over another".

It seems confident that the virus hasn't been manipulated. It doesn't sound very confident in determining where the virus derived from. It talks about belief and hypothesis, and how more scientific date would be able to swing the balance to favour one hypothesis over another. It's literally admitting that it's own data isn't scientific enough to verify their own hypothesis or out rule another one.
Must've come from a lab in wuhan then...

Seriously... your belief is based in nothing more than people in the shadows out to get us and there being a lab in the city where it originated. Yet, scientists doing exactly what you'd want scientists to do (give an initial view based on scientific analysis but also requesting more research) are guessing?

Again, I don't hold any particular belief. I just remain open to hypotheses that remain possible, especially when the scientists that you have referenced are doing exactly the same. They literally state that they can't prove or disprove where the virus has come from. I'm just agreeing with the scientists that you have referred to.

Let's face it though, it looks like that C-word is due to come up again. Not 'conspiracy' but 'coincidence'.

I'll help you out, and keep it simple so you can understand.

Please point me in the direction of all the other pandemic simulations, as the only one that keeps coming up is Event 201. The one that was produced on the same day of the military war games in Wuhan.
Crimson contagion and Clade x are two that appeared on the very first page of google when I typed in "pandemic simulations"

It's really not that hard is it? I'll let you find the rest if you really are interested.

They can't prove it because it is not possible to. What they can do is weigh up the facts and give an educated prediction.

Its interesting that all of the conspiracy theorists on this thread have stated that they don't hold any particular view, but only post evidence of a conspiracy and dismiss any rational evidence.

I am 100% certain that you believe it is a conspiracy because you've not said anything to suggest otherwise.

Thanks.

Fair enough, there have been other recent simulations. They didn't come up on my first page Google but they are very interesting. This is how Wiki describes the Crimson Contagion:

Crimson Contagion was a joint exercise conducted from January to August 2019, in which numerous national, state and local, private and public organizations in the US participated, in order to test the capacity of the federal government and twelve states to respond to a severe pandemic of influenza originating in China.

The simulation, which was conducted months prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, involves a scenario in which tourists returning from China spread a respiratory virus in the United States, beginning in Chicago. In less than two months the virus had infected 110 million Americans, killing more than half a million.

They can't prove it because it is not possible to. What they can do is weigh up the facts and give an educated prediction.

Again, you are stating 100% certainty without any facts to back it up.

Except everything you've posted. You have not given any indication that you are open minded. You are transfixed on certain bits of information and have created a narrative that it is a conspiracy. You have just dismissed an entire scientific paper for suggesting that more data would be required. Yet ignored the main section which breaks down the genome sequence and how it is unlikely to be something that was made in a lab.

Mate, I literally copy and pasted their conclusion!

And whilst I do remain open to the different hypotheses when we are in a situation where no hypothesis has been proven or disproven, I haven’t been pushing the ‘made’ in a lab hypothesis. I am more open to it coming from the massive coronavirus testing lab, though.

At the end of the day, I’m not the one that has a closed mind here. It’s other people that are stating assurances without the evidence to back them up.

If Mr Gates has little to no involvement in any ‘solution’ that may come forward, then fair enough, I won’t raise any eyebrows.

However, if he does, and it involves some kind of digital recording. Then I will definitely be raising an eyebrow!

Let’s just wait and see!

It isn't that I'm closed minded. No evidence has been presented to show it has come from a lab. So how can you use that as an argument? If evidence was found that showed it was, I am happy to change my mind.

My question to you is, what makes you think it could've come from a lab (other than the fact there is a lab there)?
