Still has bags of talent, and remains dangerous in a short-form tournament like a major international. He can stay healthy and remain in stride for a month.

Unless Brazil does something in a hurry, survival in Group D will come down to who gets what off Colombia, or who hammers Paraguay the hardest. This has been exactly what Costa Rica needed from this one. Bend, but don't break, then smash-and-grab Colombia or catch Paraguay on an off night.
 
I’ve never seen Jonathan David play well for Canada. Tonight it looks like he can’t even be bothered to move.

Seriously though his goal scoring record looks more like a cruise ship itinerary than the goal scoring record of an in demand striker
 
This is like a pick up game where it is next goal wins, everyone is gassed, and no one feels like running except for when they might score.

Oh and also no one has the quality to actually score.

When the 4th official put up 7 minutes, there wasn’t a single player who wanted to be out there. Heat in the middle of the country is no joke

You’re telling me man. Not the middle of the country but we haven’t been below 90 more than maybe a day in the last two weeks. It’s brutal. Some of the venues for this are a little crazy in that regard.

I’m in Florida so we’re used to it, though it was unseasonably warm in May with virtually no rain. The thing about the plains is the air doesn’t move when it’s that hot. It’s just hot, humid and stagnant.
 
This referee is crazy. Just not giving anything which I prefer to falling for dive after dive, but this might be a little over the line. He's forced them to play though which is refreshing.
