Me too. From Warne/McGrath predicting 5-0 Ashes victories to Warner/Smith cheating then throwing young Bancroft under the bus and Chappell ordering his brother to bowl underarm, absolutely despicable.

I have a soft spot for the Socceroos, and I get behind Aussie athletes at the Olympics, but the rest can GTF.
I have often wondered why this spirit is in the Australian psyche, I tend to think it's a kind of "little dog" syndrome. There is a perception we must prove ourselves on the world stage. Cricket seems to be where it comes out worst - beat the Old Dart at all costs.

I particularly disliked Merv Hughes. I may be mistaken, but I seem to recall him gobbing toward an opposition batsman - it might have been another Aussie bowler, but I think it was him. I felt ashamed to be an Aussie.

Call me old fashioned, but I still like good sportsmanship.

Having said all of the above, I think it's funny the bed wetting on here over losing the ashes 😂

I think some credit has to be given to the australian cricket fans in some instance, the sandpaper stuff was essentially fans including the aussies saying 'no, this is our game and you don't do that'. I think from memory the ICC were talking about 3 week fans and it was the public outcry that saw such heavy punishments enforced.

In terms of the ashes the result is the result and australia are world number 1 for a reason, I personally couldn't be happier with how England have played, the leadership team in place and the ideology they are putting forward to try and return test cricket as the premier format (paraphrasing Kumar). I genuinely hope the aussies have a bit of self relection on how they've played and they don't allow a lucky weather escape to make them press forward with a win at all costs mentality that resulted in really negative cricket, thats not good enough while test cricket is in such a fragile state, it needs more than England stepping up to the plate. I said the same thing about England when we played for a draw against NZ under silverwood, that doesn't respect the fans or the game and is ultimately about self preservation.

Test cricket doesn't just need a good aussie team, it needs an entertaining one.

The ashes are not lost

Not really up to dealing with Huntsman spiders if I'm honest. Don't GAS about the actual poisonous ones because they don't look like alien lifeforms.

You hear about some monstrous specimen being found and you think that's OK, go deep enough into the outback and you'll find all sorts. No, it was seen legging round a suburban Sydney garden.
