I worked over there for a couple of months in 08/09 and stayed in a place called Halifax, Nova Scotia, a lovely place and great people.
Played a round of golf there at Hartlen point golf course that runs alongside the Atlantic Ocean, unbelievable!

1. It’s massive
2. It’s full of real moody bears
3. It’s full of Jarg French types with outrageous mustaches
5. Vancouver is cool
6. They have nice beavers

Visited Toronto a couple of times, like an inoffensive US city. Little bit bohemian in places which were cool.

Many years ago travelled across from Toronto (bitterly cold) to Vancouver (lovely city, northern San Francisco). Canada generally struck me as a dialed-down version of USA, which was a bit disappointing overall for a younger version of me.

Have a couple of friends who've lived in the ski resorts and rave about it though, so might have to make another trip to see what's what these days. Always fancied visiting the French-speaking areas, as well.

They're still waiting to see the Stanley cup in Vancouver though! I wouldn't begrudge the Canucks a Stanley Cup win at this stage.

Liverpool is the closest city to Ireland on one side, on the other side St Johns is the closest North American city to us.
