The failure in this tournament could be put down to poor preparation. Not enough ODIs in India prior to the tournament, but also not enough ODIs in general over the last 2-3 years.

I think they only played half the number of ODIs in the run up to this CWC that they did in the run up to the previous one

Tailenders have been better than the openers! No Roy - baffling. Need to develop more spinners too, could maybe use Leach in ODIs.
