my target was 20k gbp.

hard to gauge what happens now, last night i cashed out 10 btc at around 10k GBP per coin, so thats 25% of stake. ill leave it like that for a while, my gut tells me this is far from the 'end' of crypto, the cat is well and truly out of the bag. once the genie is out, it cant be put back. Could see a new ATH within a matter of months - possibly weeks. if it hits 8k gbp then ill buy again.

the korean issue is a setback, but alternative routes will appear for those who used them I feel.

Stop this please Kev

$13.2k having hit $12.8k

11% down so far since yesterday.

South Koreans about to formally ban the trading of bitcoin, having already shut down the trading platform access. Remember, this is one of the most technically advanced nations on earth with a huge appetite for micro-transactions, online trading etc etc.

35% down since Christmas. Forget the whales @Kev The Rat , it's nearly vultures time

With respect, major Korean journalists are saying that this is not the case at all and the presidential office said that banning is only one of the options of many they are considering and (contrary to the justice minister) no bills have been made.

What I imagine the government wants to do (as all govs do) is regulate - close dodgy exchanges and get some good tax $ out of it. S.Korea is one of the countries where institutional money has been invested, so I would imagine there is pressure on them to not have a total ban.

As you say, S.Korea is one of the most technically advanced nations on earth. They'll want to hedge their bets on crypto rather than risk being left behind.

I disagree that is going tits up. Far from it. There could be a lull for a couple of months. The idea that it goes down to 3/4k is preposterous. Ive taken out 25% for personal reasons, not because I have no faith in it going forward.

As far as the likes of Buffet are concerned - clearly if I was a billionaire I would have the opportunity to be sceptical about most things.

Ordinary people don’t have that luxury

You`re anything but ordinary Kev x

Good man, the old adage about no-one getting poor by taking a profit is very true.

Don't forget to declare the capital gain on your self-assessment tax form though. As a contractor who has occasionally done a bit of work for HMRC, I'll feel duty bound to remind you of this at a more appropriate time, and check with them that you've filed the form correctly.

We're probably reading the same thing here mate, for example

They are trying to avoid panic; the Justice Minister has accidentally revealed the long-term aim.

If it gets banned there....

I think it's time to give some respect to @Kev The Rat. Last night he made himself a cool £100,000 (£90,000 profit!). Not one to brag, he's downplayed it on here, but I think we're all in agreement that it's incredible news and an amazing success story.

To be honest, I'm inspired by how humble he's being about it. I'd be shouting from the rooftops.

He`s an inspiration to us all mate.

Let`s hope @Woolly Blue gives him a chance to pay any tax due, before grassing him to HMRC..
