That's what I was trying to allude to before. If he's fit, as it was mentioned, then he should travel today even as an option from the bench.

His admission would either suggest something untoward: possibly another injury; something more worrying.

Hopefully it is just precautionary. Hopefully it isn't another injury. However, mentioning he was fit and then not in the squad does look foolish.

I'm sure we'll find out further details later on.

No. You can't drop a player to make a point and then bring him on if you need him. It weakens your position.

Besides there's no indication that bringing him on would spark a big performance anyway. It would be a complete gamble with low odds of success and a big downside.
 


We're obviously gonna win today, then he'll change it next week and bring back Howard, Distin and Barkley out wide and we'll get bummed.
