Yes I agree but the experienced Osman tires in 20 minutes and has no physical presence!
He should be coming off the bench as a super sub not starting. Martinez blotting his copy book here for me with some woeful decisions in the past two games.

Why drop McCarthy, you play your best team at all times, we have the RS, United and Arse coming up, its not like it matters which of those games he misses, they are all important.

Inbefore all the Derby Cup final weapons come out to play.

Spot on this, we often slip up against the lower teams anyway. Just got to hope he doesn't pick up another yellow or it's Osman in midfield for the derby.

Martinez will of made it clear to McCarthy to not go in for any stupid tackles. Hopefully it will be 2-0 by halftime and he can come off before the smaller tackles start mounting up.

I suspect it's a bit more simple than that: Barkley is 19 and easier to drop than an older pro with a decades worth of everton experience behind them.

thing is dave people tend to get caught up in the hype as well, atm for the past 3-4 games barkley hasnt been as impressive as the first 4-5 games, so yeah i can understand why hes getting dropped atm, much as it loathes me to say it though id rather he started naismith dropped off than osman, just dont think ossie has the legs to start any game anymore, hes a last 30 at best now

Problem with dropping a player for a bookign reason though is you are effectively reducing their playing time for you in anticipation of bans, kinda doubling the effect, say we drop him for this then he plays without being booked vs the rs, we then have arsenal and man u, i for one want that man u result more than aresenal so do we drop him for arsenal as well so not to have him missing vs man u, can end up missing 3-4 games when you break down it like that

You could say that about a few others keeping their place.

He came on against Spurs last week and it looked like we'd taken a kid off in Osman and sent a grown man on to replace him.

How can you have a go at this man?

Here's Roberto arriving at Selhurst Park earlier.

Big Ossie fan, but even I know Barkley should be starting. He changed the game against Spurs whilst Osman invited pressure on us
