Today's result makes the derby massive. Can't afford to lose it now or it'll be a mid-table fight for the rest of the season.

Soooooo the result of one game about a third of the way through a season will somehow mean we're mid table fodder despite the amount of points still available? Right.

Still think we wont see the best of us untill after xmas, roberto needs 2 or 3 more players of his own style and the current players need to keep learning his ways. Just look at the ****e last year, they had the same problems as us, not being able to break teams down, but with time and a few of brendas own players now they look dangerous and expansive.

As mentioned, the turn around in their season and even form now is down to spending well last January. I doubt we'll be able to do the same. No idea if we'll get better as the season goes on, the performances have been okay up until now but more efficient than anything else.

Haha, people love a bit of hyperbole. Regardless of the result in a couple of weeks I think everyone will be surprised if we're not competing in and around 6th/7th.

Yeah, Jagielka and Distin are going to have their work cut out but as I said I'll be disappointed if Suarez and Sturridge take them to the cleaners.

For me their weakest part of the team is central midfield, McCarthy and Barkley really need to get on top of Lucas and Gerrard, don't give them any time on the ball.
It's McCarthy's sort of game I think. Glad he's clear to play. But it involves pressing from all the midfield and I genuinely don't think Barry is quick enough to the tackle to make it work.
I worry about our back line against those two. On the counter with our fullbacks up the pitch, our defence is really exposed.

Martinez has been good so far, but if we cannot win over the team that is bottom of the table then maybe he is not the right man for Everton.

We should have money to spend, at least what ws left from selling vic and felli, unless its disapeared on 'operating cost'

Only beaten once in 11 though. We are as hard to beat under the new regime as under the old.

Joint top of the draw table though with 5, and that's killing us a bit.

Eerily similar to last season, for all the talk of a revolution at Goodison there's not much different in the results.

The manager can be held responseable for many things but you can't blame the manager for the players having such poor touches and passes in the final third.

Martinez's tactics gave us enough possession to be able to created the chances needed to easily win the game but our players just couldn't do that.

dreadful, bobby may have brought a new passing style but the soul of the team seems gone, no energy no drive no pace, no will to win, we are wigan with slightly better players..wtf does mc carthy do,, 13 m, ,, hopefully he will improve ala feli.. but if we play like we have lately against the ****e the arse and the mancs we will get bummed... sort it out bobby ffs
