...and one poster sums up their loss to Sunderland thus :

'Ponderous, slow build up play
Lack of desire
Just turn up and win attitude'

lol....sound familiar

...and a Spurs fan (post Newcastle game) raises an interesting angle :

'another poor performance after a europa cup match, we drop points immediately after a tourno we dont want to be in, end up finishing 5th and play in same crap cup the next year, rinse and repeat, look at liverpool playing with no euro distractions'

In fairness to Osman, he was the game changer vs Villa

Which probably sums up where he's at right now in his career: He's most dangerous playing against players who've already been slogging their guts out for over an hour on the pitch.

Put him in an even contest and he stinks the place out, as proven in every single game he has started this season.

There is no argument whatsoever for him being in the first XI. Whenever we win with him starting it's not with him or down to him, it's in spite of him being there. Get ****ing rid and play him from the bench if he must play.

Do you not think he's any good mate?

Fair enough, I was struggling to decipher your cryptic description.

Butters has been known to fulminate on this subject. I must confess toward a lot of sympathy toward the view that Osman should not start. However, despite my leaving messages advising this, it appears Roberto is 'not picking up'.

From the Arsenal Forum...

'This is how good our attack is.

Go up to their goal area and pass it left to right, rinse and repeat, no goal threat whatsoever, take a bloody shot or something!!'

I gotta smile at how familiar Arse, Citeh, Spurs and Chelsea fans sound post weekend matches. They sound JUST LIKE US!! lol
PS my Manure supporting mate at work is definitely crowing this morning. Says this is the turning point of the season and that Man U is back.( I told him I hope he's wrong!)

He was the game changer against Villa because he came on after 60 minutes and as a result had more time and space to have an impact! Starting him these days is effectively like starting off with 10 players on the pitch. In the games against Hull, Spurs and now CP the games have just passed him by and it's no coincidence he has been hauled off with half an hour to go each time! He should not be starting games these days barring an injury crisis, and should be used occasionally off the bench.
Having said that he'll probably start the derby, if so God help us all!

For me we lacked a plan b yesterday, we kept our same formation and whilst osman off for barkley does help, it wasn't enough, it should've been changed to 442 and all out attack. There was no urgency at all, far too respectful and far too relaxed.

Osman can't start again and even pienaar should be a carefully considered choice. Lukaku hardly had a touch yesterday because the service was so poor, and whats the point in having wingers if they cant/never put a cross in? and when they do theres only one guy in the box

This.

And this is likely the main reason for Mirallas's apparent dip in form.

A wide man should be running at defenders, like the way he terrified the RS at Goodison last season and whipping the ball in for front men to get on to, like for Lukaku against the Bar Codes.

I don't know what way he is being told to play but he has stopped doing either of those things.

hes just inconsistent mate. He is a good player but I think he is more suited to another league. I don't rate him in the prem to be honest. You can see what he can do like the run vs stoke and liverpool but apart from that he doesn't really impress me.

We all expected so much more from him this season and he has been absolute dog turd. He looks like he can't run at full pelt so not sure if he has some form of niggle but out of all of the squad this season he has underwhelmed massively. I was actually thinking on Saturday I would rather have had Naismith on instead if him as he has a tendency to pop up with a goal and chase down enforcing a mistake. Says something when I would rather him be on than Mirallas.

I did not enjoy this game at all

Not in the slightest

Oh and a bottle of beer (a small one at that) and a pie would set you back 8 quid at Selhurst Park. Bloody London. You at least get a pint in other places for that sort of price

All in all, a very frustrating day out. I didn't like the Palace fans cheering the 0-0 either. They played fine but it deserved polite applause at best. They played the whole game like they were the away team
